Look at the rear tire. Has less psi than my latte when cold. More deformed than a pissed willy after 3 shandys. Looks like it's breaking the bead at the rim.
Must be photo shopped mates. Tires softer than a 90 year old todger after the polar bear plunge in the North Sea in January!!!

Probably can’t keep the heat in his tyres. Bloody amateur. If he joined the forum he’d get some quality advice that would sort him out. Doubt he’d listen though. 🤷‍♂️

.... me I can't believe that I was wrong, and after all these years of being so right too! So it wasn't a stock bike, it actually had some of Andy's bling including a special 3 header Moto2 pipe with an afterburner air intake, and V4R fork internals OMFG! Moto 2 brakes as well. That explains EVERYTHING and why a V4s can lap with a few seconds of a MotoGP bike at Portimao Must be the finned calipers, no it's the triple header exhaust, no its the R cartridges.... I need the bling real bad now, I'll be up there with Pecco if only I had the bling. Andy was right all along

Nope it's about corner speed. An extra 100 HP (125?) only gets Pecco 2.8 secs on that track. And whatever that is V4 r/s (probably with the Pecco maps) is heavier too. Take away any long straights and the number gets smaller.

This ^^^

100 hp, losing 50lbs, MotoGP electronics, and MotoGP rubber only nets a few seconds a lap over a bone stock pv4.

Lmfao.

Probably WSBK is a better comparison

The short version is skill beats bling on our bikes if laptime is all you're interested in.

Okay back to our bikes…

BooooHoooo

I ordered the Racetorx gear shifter support bracket, went to put it on tonight but unfortunately it doesn’t fit with my Oberon Clutch Slave and my MotoCorse rearset support bracket.

The racetorx bracket is more beefy than stock and so is the MotoCorse stuff in black below, so they meet in the middle. I could do some dremelling and make it work but the the clutch slave I have still interferes with where the top of the racetorx bracket needs to connect.

Nobody has said anything that would contradict that.

Still interested in your answer to my question regarding how much time you think slicks are worth over stock road tyres.

Frustrating! Which part is the priority for you to retain?

I just added that bling to mine… didn’t fit with my spider bling rearsets support
It required a bit of shaping to the rearset

Honestly I feel ashamed with this bling 🤷🏼‍♂️

With a good rider that could fully exploit both tyres without crashing, depending on the track and stickiness of the slick, I would guess between 2 and 4 seconds.
This is purely a gut feel however, with some datapoints stored somewhere in my mind such as qualifying slicks vs race slicks etc...

Interesting.

So, if Martin on a V4S on stock tyres was within 5 seconds of his MotoGP bike at Jerez testing then that would put him at around 1:40 on slicks (1:42 on road tyres), which is the fastest lap managed by Bautista on a full factory V4R in yesterday’s full race. That stock V4S is really something… Different riders of course.

Rider dependent for sure...Someone did comparison at Chuckwalla. Delta was under a second SC2 versus TD treaded tire. Not a pro rider but difference
was feel and confidence in the tire. Plenty of people on TD's killing it versus slicks. Watch chasing Tenths youtube channel. Sylvain G. ran Metzeler TD slicks
versus SC0 on his GSXR1000 and delta was 2 seconds. Said he would go with TD's for track days or long endurance race. No dropoff in performance.
Bottom line figure 2 seconds slick versus street based tire with pro rider!!

Hmmm... was he definitely on Supercorsa SP tyres? He might have had Supercorsa SC which are much closer to a slick.

As other better qualified riders on here might attest, running sticky tyres will require stiffer springs, damping changes etc... all of which will take the bike further away from stook and decrease lap times/increase confidence.

So a $500 set of slicks is worth a full second over stock, but we have folks here trying to convince us that the tens of millions invested by a MotoGP team only nets another few seconds of improvement over a stock production bike.

Bunch of canyon racers. ;)
