So you are getting a plastic tank setup for a better seat? The Race Seat It wide flat seat is close enough

If you really want an SBK seat you could certainly have a bracket fabbed to make this work

Yes, to get the tank shape I want and the seat shape I want I could track down a WSBK tank for $3500 to $4500, then find a source to mold the tank extender for the WSBK tank that will fit me as those are custom made, then change the rear subframe and get new fairings to fit the tank and new subframes, and build out the seat and paint it all for another $4000 to $6000. Or custom fabricate a seat attachment which will get me a quarter of what I want….And then deal with any re-arranging of the battery and electronics area, and sort the fueling, and then replace it all the 1st time I lay the bike down.

OR

I could spend $1300 on essentially the same crash hardened racing setup that Kramer uses, paint it for $800, bolt everything up as is, keep my fairings, and get everything I want in one clean neat package.

The Rade Garage setup has a brilliant well thought out tank shape, a wider seat than my RaceSeats.it seat and it’s flatter (less tilted) than any of the current subframes that are available allow, and it’s longer so I can tuck better at 6’3” inches tall.

Dunno what I should do man, that’s a hard decision to sort through? 😂😂😂

Oh and btw if I wanted to I can sell current tank (I have two) and Motoholders subframe, and CF inner tail section for more than the cost of the RADE garage setup lol

I’m inclined to agree. This RG tank is similar in concept to the Kramer, and in shape to the rsv4 which I think (having ridden both) is more ergonomic.

That rear shock’s not stock. I wonder what else they do to them.

These are training bikes for rider conditioning. It’s a base V4 and threw on Ohlins suspension and some rearsets seat (uses stock clip ons in fact). Shock is just a TTX GP w remote hydraulic preload adjuster. Same as on V4R except for the remote adjuster. Nothing too fancy. You can get them anywhere for a couple thou

"what you want" is hypothetical and therein lies the rabbit hole I was speaking of. This tank won't make you faster nor will being in a better tuck. A lot of track time or a 23/24 base with new electronics would tho

Not the same shock as V4R its DU468, different forks + fork bottoms with 108mm spacing and better brakes, race radiator, and what he mentioned ^^^

Cool video. Where did you get the specifics about the bike?

I had a pretty big breakthrough last track day, got gobs faster and see a clear line of sight to getting faster.

I disagree that ergonomics won’t make me faster, even if marginally so, I’m getting MUCH further off the bike now, especially from mid-torso up, and want a more solid hook on the tank and wider flatter seat for support. Also, unless you are 6’3” catching wind at 150 mph I don’t think you realize how much not getting into a good tuck slows you down, even if it’s just from discomfort.

Also, the electronics on my bike are just as good as the new iteration less the ‘wet’ modes, and I don’t ride on wet tracks. I don’t particularly like the electronic interventions much anyway. My bike has pretty good feel.

I absolutely disagree that new V4 base would make me faster than my bike, an argument can be made that a Kramer or similar would, and I’m gunna get one of those specifically for that.

For the record, I’m not relying on the new setup to make me faster, I’m certainly not as experienced as you but I’m also not a newb at this point, it’s been two years and probably 25 track days now, I know full well that ‘it ain’t the bike’ lol

Also with very few exceptions I doubt many here did more track days and coaching days than me last year…and I won’t be doing any less this coming year.

I probably did close to 15 track days counting one coming up this Friday. and 4.5 of those were coaching days.

I can't answer why for someone else. I'd speculate they were looking for the most high end (expensive) solution.

I think you would have to be riding at a very high level to notice any difference.
