Have not read the full post here, but i see CF subframe, Carbon Fiber?
My suggestion is this, get aluminum or another material that is easily repairable.
My first big crash racing these bikes i found out these subframes are not optimal, unless you want to have several on hand.
The Aluminum one i have fixes easily, bent it back into place or have it welded
Since my first crash i have had my subframe tweaked 4 times, welded twice.
The CF subframe would be a one and done crash and i would imagine an expensive one.

I bought a junker track spec’d bike to potentially crash…this particular bike I’m building like I built my Porsche…I.e. make it pretty, make it fast as hell, make it easy to drive at speed, and a blast to ride like and idiot on on the street while being very capable on occasional track days.

I’m doing the California Superbike School next week to get some instruction, then I’ll start doing track days….at those track days I’ll use the track spec’d gixxer most of the sessions and maybe take the this bike out for a session or two.

As I get more compitant on the track I’ll build a dedicated track bike later on

Outstanding idea, that’s a solid game plan.

New toy in the house, older bike, 2005 gixxer, but fully track spec’d and apparently this bike has a bit of provenance abs has won some Championships.

Got it for a very low price, bit of a madmax looking thing, but feels set up really well so far.

Will be cheap to run at the track while I’m learning, and cheap to crash if it comes to that, and likely will.

Makes a great noise too, I actually like the way it sounds at high revs better than my Ducati.

Put a painted front mudguard on, VultureBike out of Italy ships these body parts already painted abs decal-ed…I also put a bunch of the stickers on from all the parts that came with them.

Huge improvement in speed, power, and handling…and as stated up above, 20% improvement in my riding ability.

That’s a cool story.

U sell the H20 Radiator with cooling fan???

Thanx.

Anybody using an other than stock steering damper?

What are you using and why?

I’m looking at whether to change mine or not, I’d like to get a bit more damping than what I get out of mine even on the highest setting.

If you are looking for more damping you may have a set-up issue.

Are you getting uncontrollable headshake with the Ohlins damper at max?

No head shake or tank slapping, it’s more of a poor riding and weight problem…I’m a big guy, who occasionally lets too much of my weight rest on the handle bars…because of my size a little 5-10% extra movement through the arms or body translates more to the front end than if I weighed 150 pounds instead of 250 pounds.

So it’s more of a rider ergonomics thing…I just like a stiffer turning front end that requires a bit more input to turn the front.

It’s not a big issue, just splitting hairs to tweek it a bit better.

Are you using DES fixed? The steering damper maxed out should be pretty difficult to move. In DES dynamic you won't notice a difference while the bike is parked.
