I put the Domino Quickturn Throttle on today, which also necessitated a switch from throttle mounted skittle switches to a Dukabike setup that forms the back clip of the brake master cylinder, pretty trick setup, cleans the bar up a lot.

Didn’t get to ride the bike with the short turn throttle on but it FEELS way better just sitting on it and twisting….none of the slop from the stuck unit, more tension and feel in the twist and and a faster snap back when you release it, and of course, the shorter turn to WOT.

Got my trick H20 from Italy today, has a bracket to fit one of the two coolant fans, and a cutout to keep the abs lines if you want. They made this version because there were a lot of requests from Malaysia and Vietnam Ducati owners that needed a better cooling solution that also allowed a fan to be mounted for use in that equatorial heat.

Probably won’t instal that for a couple months, I ordered a Pierobon extended swing arm, but it’s an eight week delivery window so I’ll probably wait until it gets here then do the radiator and swingarm at the same time.

As an aside, I have two H20 radiators now…the one that’s for track only is up for grabs if someone wants it.

Never been unwrapped, has all the plumbing kit with it.

On a different note, I’ve been talking to Pierobon exploring options on a bike build

They can build a 325 pound bike with 200 hp…not on the V4 engine though.

I asked if they were planning anything with the V4 platform on a whim, abd they replied that they are working on it, abs that in about 12 months they’ll have a Pierobon bike built around the V4R engine.

That’s sexy.

That throttle setup looks nice and clean. Have you ridden the bike with it yet? I'm interested to hear how you like it as I'm looking into a similar setup for my bike as well.

Do it, I would consider that throttle upgrade a ‘must do’ mod. Huge improvement over the sloppy stock one.

Very easy install too.

The only part of it that gets hinky is changing your grips over to the new throttle, but that’s easy if you have an air compressor and one of those needle you use to inflate a basketball…you just slide the needle under the edge of the grip and turn the air on and you ‘float’ the grip right off.

I have it on my 2019 v4 base and ride a buddy’s 2020 R with it as well - it’s very nice. More positive action than stock - seems to enhance the feeling of connectedness between right hand and rear tire. Just my experience - other might feel differently.

In the high performance car world it’s a known thing that just improving the ‘contact points’ between you abs the car greatly improves your enjoyment and performance in the car….the places where your body connects to the car…so seat, steering wheel etc…..for me it seams to be true too, but there are more contacts points to consider.

Better seat, better feeling brake lever, better feeling throttle, better feeling blip shifter, correct handlebar position and lever position.

Getting those things right seem to make a HUGE difference, then from there spring rates front and rear and suspension settings.

All those I’m learning are the highest priority mods that arguably make the biggest difference on the bike.

The improved throttle is a very good upgrade. Better than putting those little red spacers in there, I’m dubious about those little red spacers as they threw off my throttle position sensor and made my blip shifter not work quite right until we took them back off.

Sweet! Will add it to the list of upgrades I'll be doing over the winter. Mind if I ask where you got your quick throttle and Ducabike switches from?

Ducabike switches I got from Motomillions, the rest, hit up a guy here named Cycler….he’s got dealership privileges with a lot of these retailers and will get you significant discounts.

The has probably saved me a couple thousand dollars.

Did you install the HM shifter?

Not yet, last time I installed the Cordova we did it in tandem with a bunch of other parts, the shifter ended up not working right, we later figured out that those little red throttle spacers that take out the slop on throttle was throwing off the throttle position sensor just enough to mess with the Cordova blip shifter, removed them snd problem solved but took awhile to figure that was the problem.

So this time I wanted to install the switches and throttle, test drive and make sure all is well, then install the HM.

Will do that over the next day or two and update.

Was reading the setup and install instructions though, and am hopeful for the HM because it has adjustable sensitivity but warns against going with high sensitivity settings as this can result in missed shifts, which is exactly what’s happening with the Cordova, I’m not shifting hard enough from 1st to 2nd so it lands in neutral frequently, presumably because the Cordova is too sensitive.

The HM you can adjust the sensitivity so I think with it I’ll be able to dial the problem out

Will let you know.

Obviously cash isn't an issue but if you're replacing everything anyway, why not get a base and build it up and even paint it the same and save probably 15-20k?

I’m not completely sure I’d save 15 to 20k, but also, I’m already just about done setting this bike up so not switching gears now.

Have not read the full post here, but i see CF subframe, Carbon Fiber?
My suggestion is this, get aluminum or another material that is easily repairable.
My first big crash racing these bikes i found out these subframes are not optimal, unless you want to have several on hand.
The Aluminum subframes can easily be bent it back into place or have welded
Since my first crash i have had my subframe tweaked 4 times, welded twice.
The CF subframe would be a one and done crash and i would imagine an expensive one.

The last person I knew who ran the longer swingarm ran a 130Nm spring. I'd find out from Pierobon what spring rate they recommend.

Would make sense, your increasing the leverage to help keep the front end down and have less electronic intervention on the power, so a stronger spring might be in order.
