within 8 posts you go from one extreme to the other........thats why most know you are a cock!

Incorrect. I saw that you did it and quickly realized that I didn’t want pay to be a poseur. They look great but for $700 extra and a month extra on delivery—no thanks. I mean you quadruplely paid to be a poseur just to have mag wheels and special paint all with minimal performance benefits. I mean it’s like throwing good money at bad.

And if you think I’m a cock, you might want to look in the mirror. You think you look like Alvaro and want to play play boy racer but in reality you’re still a bald fat washed up over the hill track day rider that’s biggest accomplishment is riding is A’s. Something that could easily be done on a stock bike. How many trackdays have you won on that monstrosity?

Perfect. You must be jonesing. I stand with my prediction 2 sec a lap on a 2 minute lap.

Yeah I missed the last track day i had scheduled, so yeah I’m literally jonesing for it haha, been too long. Gunna be hard to tell how much the tank makes me faster because i was running a different track my last 3 or 4 track days, and improved a lot since i went to Chuckwalla. But I’m also on about a 2 month gap between track days. That’s pretty long, so the 1st few sessions will be getting in the zone again. I’ll definitely know how i feel on the bike compared to the old tank and seat though, and I can’t wait to really get this thing at lean and properly trail brake with it etc. It absolutely feels better on the street runs I’ve done, but I rarely ride at more than 6 or 7 tenths on the street so it’s really no proper gauge.

The stock V4 tank forces me to continually spread my legs so far I feel like the town pump on friday night. The narrow back of the Rade tank resembles classic belt drive superbike tanks including the eyebrows. So much better. And the seat is flat instead of being halfway on it's way to Uranus. They still haven't got back to me on the true volume.

Technically Uranus is supposed to be on the seat.

I'll see myself out now :)

Okay back to bikes instead of old white men arguing politics lol

She’s prepped for the next track day, new rubber, all the fluids swapped out, ergos set as well I as can set them with the new tank without being at the track…and the new MATRIS steering damper is installed, which, I have to say is a REALLY well made piece of kit, the quality of it’s feel is phenomenal. The thing is machined and engineered so well that’s it’s making me take a fresh look at the MATRIS forks and carts.

The bike is looking mean and is begging me to ride it with intent lol

Looks a bit less pretty boy and bit more track weapon in this configuration.

I spy a Jetprime throttle. How do you like it? Any thoughts compared to the Domino?

Well the Domino failed on me after about 18 months….the jetprime also feels like a much more solid unit, crisper turn and snap back, made with better materials.

All in all seems like a better option than the Domino so far, had it for about 6 months now.

I do like the shape of the tank. And the color scheme really works. That seat looks really wide so you can climb way off and still have a solid perch. It's been 75 days, 5 hours and 12 minutes since my last wheelstand.

Looks great Steven. I may have missed it earlier in the thread when it was caught up in the political debate lol, but what was your reasoning behind the steering damper change?
After my debacle with lock stop protectors (see other thread) I'm looking at options including the side mounted option.

Side mount is the way to go but unfortunately I can’t do that with the radiator I have on my bike.

As far as the change, MATRIS is a way better steering damper, better quality, better technology. It’s speed sensitive and has its own gas reservoir so you can set it so it turns relatively lightly at low speeds but then if you have a tank slapper event it ramps up the damping dramatically the faster the bars are moving.

Having said all that, after having changed so much on the bike there is a reason I haven’t changed the steering damper until now, because upgrading a steering damper is not some big significant upgrade that matters alot. It’s a safety feature, and the Ohlins unit is fine for that.

It’s a VERY good idea if you can get one to put the Kratech steering damper bracket on the bike if you aren’t going to a side mount configuration, because the frame tab that holds the steering damper on is remarkably fragile and is prone to braking off the subframe even on a minor low side event, then you’re done until you get a new subframe installed. The Kratech bracket re-enforces the damper connection to the subframe.

The reason I finally upgraded my damper was that the wires leading to my electronic Ohlins damper were getting rubbed through by one of my reservior brackets, and I felt like my damper was intermittently not working, and that’s a safety issue, so I just pulled the trigger on a better made unit with better adjustability that’s manual click.

Not really a ‘needed’ upgrade, but feels good knowing it’s there.

If you can do a side mount setup that is the best way to go though, not that hard to do unless you have the H20 Radiator in the way 😅
