The weird thing is that Andy has read all of them and has a ranking list.

It’s a personal choice to go with back protector vs airbag. I rationalize it that I’m not riding hard enough therefore don’t need the faffery of an airbag. It’s like helmet preference. Or glove preference. Or any preference. It’s why I don’t run slicks or tire warmers.

It's actually not a faff at all. Mine is built in, lasts 3 days on a charge. Turn it on, climb into leathers. Simple.

I've seen plenty of people crash on the sighting laps, following an instructor and they have taken other riders out. Got to give yourself the best chance.

(And not comparable to a choice of tyres,
which can bring a lot of faffery)

No 4 on the stupid list comparing tyre choice to personal safety equipment.

I hear you guys. Also, what kind of trackdays are you riding at w that much drama. The ones I go to are considerably more chill.

Airbag won’t stop a brain bleed or shoulder injury. Collarbone yes. Neck stuff debatable. Back injury prevention is most likely not better than a good back protector. Also I seem to roll well and have sturdy collarbones. Have had multiple big push bike crashes and yet to break a collarbone (somehow).

I try to ride away from others. That’s the beauty of riding at the tip of intermediates. It’s easier to position yourself on the track and you have more control of situations. You encounter a gaggle, either pit and wait for open track or methodically work through it. Just my approach.

I'm thinking there's somebody on here who'd like that old, nasty RCS. The nice thing about the RCS is the fine adjuster on the span. Good particularly if you've got big hands. I'm trying to figure out where that is on your new one.

The TechAir 10 is protecting your collarbone, as well as your hips. Also take into consideration that the good old "hard backprotector" is included in the TechAir so in the event it is not working your still protected. I also always use a breast plate, as the risk of puncture from sharp objects are always there. But that is just me...
The TechAir was a failure from the start, I got a new one during the autumn and now it is all good. AirTech backside is the "plastic foil in the sauna" feeling, incredible at hot days.

Okay problem solved with the suit.

It took awhile for Vircos/Tailertech to get back to me but they will in fact make the Vircos 372 suit I wanted in Kangeroo for me.

They also recommended that I use the TechAir Race instead of the TechAir10 so you all convinced me to switch to that options.

I had finished my draft of the suit in the Vircos configurator literally the night before they switched the configurator and the suit’s available to the Rev’it TailorTech stuff. So I think the sales rep made the case for grandfathering me in.

Unfortunately I may be the last Vircos suit produced though…unfortunate because I think they are the best designed suits out there.

The guys who have them are nearly cult like in their appreciation of them.

If I were steven I'd keep his current bike (since it's almost sorted) and stuff an 1103 crank in an R motor or R cams in the current one. Hp is controlled by flow so the max power would only be slightly higher (might see 250) but the torque awesome. I've already decided this is next winters project. I think I can start with an 1103 and stuff R cams in if it appears the rods can take it. I'll find a second motor and blueprint it and add cams (trying to add 30 or so HP without going thru the bottom is a bad plan IMHO). The cams are a bolt in. Only other difference I could find is the collets (they become titanium) and the closer springs. Then put it in and sell the one out of my bike. And I will dyno it and post the results. So I'm going to start looking for stuff (a blown up R with the heads unscathed would be perfect).

Way above my pay grade on that one Bagger😂😂😂

Also, on my bike, the rider needs more power, not the engine. Ha ha ha

Still though it’s a sexy idea and I’m interested in your results, sounds like a stump puller

Yeah I am never reconsidering the engineers that built my bike...

Yeah but you kinda are every time you mod the bike, it’s just a matter of degree. And not inappropriate if it moves the bike from mass production track capable street bike designed to fit the broadest audience to being specifically set up to your preferences.

The assembly (valve shimming) of the heads was so bad from the factory that I wonder about the rest of the motor. And the cause of failure on Panibadboy' R really has made me a little crazy. When I put it back together I'll put an oil pressure gauge on it and monitor the oil pressure. It appears you can get to the pump pretty readily.

It will be less peaky than an R' get off a corner harder than an R and the HP peak would only be slightly higher than a regular Pani 1103. Be easier to ride I think than an R.
