Also this is a good video on how to approach trackdays

Yeah but you kinda are every time you mod the bike, it’s just a matter of degree. And not inappropriate if it moves the bike from mass production track capable street bike designed to fit the broadest audience to being specifically set up to your preferences.
I am talking about the fundamental bike engineering, the engine
The assembly (valve shimming) of the heads was so bad from the factory that I wonder about the rest of the motor. And the cause of failure on Panibadboy' R really has made me a little crazy. When I put it back together I'll put an oil pressure gauge on it and monitor the oil pressure. It appears you can get to the pump pretty readily.

It will be less peaky than an R' get off a corner harder than an R and the HP peak would only be slightly higher than a regular Pani 1103. Be easier to ride I think than an R.
LMK when you get that built, I will have done a lot of laps in that time

The newer R’s, 22 and up have a new gear box with updated track oriented ratios that help you keep it in the best RPM range on track easier.

I love the torqueyness of the S engine, especially at my size. And for the street that’s a hoot, on track it’s a lot of fun too especially with the Deussen Tune opening up my mid-range. Having said that, I think the newest iteration of the R will be easier to finesse around the track faster. The improved gear ratios combined with a power delivery that’s smoother with the same or slightly better high end than the S in theory should be faster around the track, if not as FUN as the S engine.

These motors are based on GP14(?). So in 14 they were probably making 275HP. But since no one is going to give me a set of GP 14 cams the R's will have to do. So properly prepped motor bottom ends should be reliable. First thing I'm going to do is put a red loctited grub screw in those stupid back of the piston squirter feeds. Probably 3 HP right there. They're squirting oil at the backside of the piston domes to lower the dome temperature to lower NOX admissions. Lowering chamber temp kills a few HP. And they use up some of the oil pump capacity.

I think the gear ratio changes make sense particularly the higher first gear. But faster? The newest R cams have another mm intake lift (so 15 mm or 0.600 inch). So shorter guide life. If I had an R I'd be checking valve clearances on a real regular basis. Minimum yearly. That's probably most of the basis of the 5K service interval. The gun drilled rods are also a good thing in the new R's.

That’s not a lot. Stock is a little over 4 gal. You’d probably realistically only be able to get 2 sessions out of a full tank

why would you carry a full tank of fuel around with you on a session on track? You fill what is required for that session, use it, come back in, refuel for the next session and go again.....oh track wise one!

Okay guys, this thread is actually a resource for people because of all the mods and parts, listed out in it, so let’s not have pages and pages of what is admittedly, hilarious banter in this thread, please

On that note, fun fact, the 17 RCS Corsa Corda master cylinder has a different bar angle for the bracket then the 17/18 Brembo EVO RADIAL GP MASTER CYLINDER.

Which means my switches that for the backside of the bracket for the course Acorda master cylinder, will not attach to the back of the Evo GP master cylinder, so I have to find another bracket to attach my switches to. Not a biggie, but interesting that the master cylinders attached to the bar at a different angle with a different bracket..
