This is the latest top shelf bike I built properly built, setup and tuned in house. Started off as a 16R motor rest everything else is top shelf parts. Every part on this bike doesn't exist in the Ducati catalog other then the swingarm, main chassis and most of the motor.

Very nice. Is it permanently semi-naked or is the fairing off just to show bits and pieces?

Jaw dropping amazing! There is no question Mick knows his stuff.

I would consider how many miles I would plan to place on the Baylis, if traveling in that direction. While the resale may be more desirable, low mileage would also weigh considerably. Also, if you need to replace a fairing, SE fairing liveries are much more limited than the mass produced standard versions. Good luck.

Flip side is it would cost me almost as much to build it out of a base and at the end of the day it’s just a base V2 as far resale. You never get your money back out of mods and bling

True, sometimes better off reinstalling the simple stock pieces and selling to mods privately.

I’ve done that as well as keep the mod and sell the OEM - either way you lose $$ beyond depreciation. It’s why I don’t do major mods any longer and just buy the model that has the majority of what I want. The V4S would be perfect as well, I really like electronic suspension (current BMW) but this is a going to be a second bike and not the bike I would take on weekend trips so the extra $8K out the door isn’t worth it

If you are concerned about resale then a new Ducati is not for you. Resale should be the last priority for a toy. Sound like you're sold on the Bayliss, good luck. Still think a base with carbon wheels and ohlins would be a better option. As mentioned restore to stock and sell the bling for a better recovery, but why not just buy the blinged bike in the first place? Plenty out there.

I know myself and that I tend to keep a bike 2-3yrs on average. It’s not that I’m looking to flip anything on bikes as that is a money loser, it just I think we live in the golden age of cars and bikes right now, and they keep coming out with such amazing machines. 9/10ths of the riders out there will never even come close to the stock machines capabilities So not doing major mods is my way of helping supporting my addiction ;)
