If I could only have one bike I’d go V2 with upgraded suspension all day. Coming from an 899 and a V4 owner.
Please show us pictures of what you ride and what you think a real Ducati is
This is the latest top shelf bike I built properly built, setup and tuned in house. Started off as a 16R motor rest everything else is top shelf parts. Every part on this bike doesn't exist in the Ducati catalog other then the swingarm, main chassis and most of the motor.
Very nice. Is it permanently semi-naked or is the fairing off just to show bits and pieces?

Side fairings and belly pan off for maintenance.

What is it now?
Like to see a shot fully dressed
Are the folding mirrors stock or aftermarket? Turn signals in mirror or fairing? Don’t like the non-folding on the new bikes…..

I would consider how many miles I would plan to place on the Baylis, if traveling in that direction. While the resale may be more desirable, low mileage would also weigh considerably. Also, if you need to replace a fairing, SE fairing liveries are much more limited than the mass produced standard versions. Good luck.
Flip side is it would cost me almost as much to build it out of a base and at the end of the day it’s just a base V2 as far resale. You never get your money back out of mods and bling
True, sometimes better off reinstalling the simple stock pieces and selling to mods privately.
If you are concerned about resale then a new Ducati is not for you. Resale should be the last priority for a toy. Sound like you're sold on the Bayliss, good luck. Still think a base with carbon wheels and ohlins would be a better option. As mentioned restore to stock and sell the bling for a better recovery, but why not just buy the blinged bike in the first place? Plenty out there.
I meant the bike was built from ground up so bought a 0 mile motor, swingarm and a airbox rest the bike top shelf parts. Internals of motor stock but different clutch, basket, RS starter and bunch other external billet titanium/aluminum pieces.
