Bike caught on fire...

Caught fire in a ditch so and unable to be ridden yet still a better looking bike than the busa.... ;)

instead of telling him on a forum tell him around the dinner table what you think of his bike as it will get you nowhere on here cos we don't care!

Stock exhaust or aftermarket? If the battery cable gets cooked and shorts to ground, it's going to make the bike run terrible, then die and catch fire.

Could also be a leak or chain goo. Won't know until the fairings off.

My experience with japanese bikes mirrors most Ducati/KTM/BMW experiences. The faster bikes have plenty of faults. Zx10r rod caps, GSXR1000 transmissions, impossible Honda CRF450x maintenance schedules etc. etc. If you want to see real pain, go to a jet ski forum. Those machines are under far greater loads than a bike, and the technical knowledge of those owners is far lower than most bike forums.

It's not fair to compare a pushed to the limit Superbike to a plain jain sportbike or a tractor like the Suzuki DRZ400s.

Everything is bone stock. Fire seems to have started underneath if that's any indication.

I'll just leave this here...

According to the worldwide survey, reliability means buying Japanese. Yamaha is the top-scoring brand for reliability, followed by Suzuki, Honda, and Kawasaki. Buying American isn't a bad decision, though, with Victory edging out Harley-Davidson. The least reliable brands were Triumph, Ducati, BMW, and Can-Am. Apr 26, 2015

Numbers Don't Lie

"numbers dont lie" so why u tellin ppl to buy the bmw ¿ LOL

My son could have been badly injured or worse, does that answer your question?
I've been riding motorcycles for 40 years and have never seen anything like this.
I wouldn't take a Ducati if you gave me one.

constructive criticism is great. sharing real horror stories about the brand is beneficial to all.

i too have been critical of this bike and for good reason, but it is still my fave bike ever.....

but this 'Busa guy is trolling and hating on the pani in a pani forum = not the sharpest tool in the ol' shed..
