Bike caught on fire...

There are other words or phrases that can be used other than should but your missing the point. Yes, the dealer can only do what they can with OEM parts to take care of the issue the best they can and know how to. Thanks for trying to correct me and laying out this long winded rant on should...

My post wasn't directed at you specifically but I appreciate you letting me know the butt hurt you're feeling. I'll be sure to let P.A. know that arsehammer is sharing his "wisdom" with others besides just him.

How bad is the body work on this bike (fire damage) because the op could request a new machine - direct replacement?
After all the dealer suffers no loss and the op will then have exactly what he paid for, I would not be happy with a new bike and it's has this history to add to its resale.

Three years ago I purchased a Land Rover after about 6 weeks I discovered the rear right fender had been resprayed, with 3000 km on the clock I approached the dealer who after exhausting discussions confessed that the thing had a fender bender on delivery from the factory, and that they did not disclose it to me.
They replaced my car with a new one, so I feel op has good case if they feel this fire thing is so isolated and one of a kind fault, fire damage is not a small electrical niggle or a leaking seal.

I honestly understand that .... happens and I don't feel like I'm entitled to anything other than a properly functioning motorcycle, especially since this is a first time occurrence. However, if it happens again it it's game over. Duc Omaha and Ducati NA have handled it very well and I have nothing but good things to say so far. We will see when I get bike back this week hopefully.

Did they tell you why it failed and which parts were affected & replaced? AFAIK failures of the CAT are fairly rare, I've not heard of one on a Panigale before. My concern would be that there is an underlying cause which hasn't been addressed.

I agree regarding the warranty however most dealers/manufacturers want a positive reputation and repeat custom. I'd certainly expect them to offer something.

yeah, they said part of the CAT actually broke somehow, both Omaha and corporate said they've never heard of or seen anything like this before. They are replacing the lower fairing, some of the foot pegs and a few other things that had fire and smoke damage. Sounds like pretty much anything that got touched by smoke or fire is being replaced. Completely new mufflers as well.

Hahaaaaa! Butt hurt not at all as I don't have feelings anyway. Again thanks for your views on my post. Lol! PA and Arsehamner are always welcome and please continue with your wisdom good sir.

Tankslapper... Hope you get your Bike back real soon. I'd be sick without mine.

Heading up to VIR on Monday to watch the track runners. Can't afford leathers yet... Maybe next year.

Sometimes when Arse is rogering my tight ......., the temperature can get hot from the friction...thus giving rise to the primordial ".... cooker"...

i think ur pani might have broken ur prostate & the sensations ur experiencing r phantom limb-like...

UPDATE: Duc omaha has her all up and running swell again. Went for about 80 miles today with no issues. Replaced some APS sensors that was apparently the issue.

RedRocket,

Enjoy your ride. Posting a large pic of your bike is asking for some offensive replies, but you knew that.

Stay safe and have fun.

I'm happy to report that TankSlapper and I rode about 60 miles yesterday and his Panigale performed flawlessly.
I also enjoyed watching his 110 MPH wheelies. :D

You know PA, I hate to say this but I very much doubt you have a tight ....... anymore.

I know ARSE tells you that in the throes of ecstasy but he is lying to you.
