Hey guys, new to the forums but not to the tuning world! We have been tuning the S1000RR successfully for many years with lots of records and achievements under our belt. A few years ago we decided to fill the void in the Ducati tuning world. We set out to create a solution that not only improves the riding experience but also improves the ownership experience. While making power is well and good and most of our customers primary goal, we wanted a solution that would also target issues on the end user side, namely the ability to reset oil lights, service reminders and check engine lights. Our S1000RR handheld has all of the capabilities so we wanted to bring it over to the Ducati side as well.
First and foremost let's talk about what we are offering. What we are bringing to the table is a revolutionary device in the Ducati world. This device is called the Powergate 3 (PG3) which is the means in which you will flash, change maps, clear oil and service reminders along with check engine light diagnostics. The small touchscreen handheld does not need to be connected to the bike besides the initial flash or when you want to use it for service, it can be stored in your garage until it is needed again. The device is easy to use and we will provide instructions along with software which will be loaded to your PC.
Onto the bread and butter:
We started with the RACE ECU base, not the watered down US version but the fully functional race IDs for all the Ducati models. This enables many features not found in a standard Ducati bike, we then took it many steps further. We got rid of the vertical and horizontal fueling style and converted each ECU to an Alpha-N style fueling model for increases in power, response and accurate fueling models. After this, we made several corrections and additions to the RACE ECU based off common complaints and known issues with the mapping and drivability. Lastly we dyno tuned the bikes for maximum power on all fuels in all weather using the two different exhausts we found through extensive testing to work best for power; Terminogi and Akrapovic, we also tested stock and gutted cans. You can have the option of tuned AFRs for ACN91, 93, MR12, U4.4, MS109 (95/98RON as well). Maps are preloaded and can offer a wide range of use, including OEM for diagnostic or dealer visits. No need to read out the original, our device ID’s the existing software and pre-uploads the tunes required.
We also designed our mapping to work with all other piggyback modules on the market if you so choose - RapidBike, PC5, Bazazz are all supported to allow easy transitions from old hardware while offering so much more then fuel and ignition offset.
Flash features:
- Flash in / flash out RACE / UP ECU (Racing EVO) for all models
- RACE ABS / TC settings
- 80 ADDITIONAL map corrections to: Ignition Timing for every fuel quality, conversion to Alpha-N Fueling, lambda, cat off changes, full throttle limiters, engine braking in all modes, cold and warm start, drivability issues (removal of known flat spots), speed and rev limit adjusted for max power, lambda limiters, throttle valve, adaptation to race fuels.
- Cruise control add-on coming shortly.
Quantifiable differences:
- 12% power gain / 8% torque on pump fuel 14% power gain and 10% torque on race fuel on 1199/1299 models.
- 3 MPH ¼ mile trap speed increase as observed with in-house ¼ mile testing.
- Diagnostic invisibility.
- Work on bike at home with ability to reset oil light and check engine codes and adaptations.
- Ability to ride bike at lower or mid RPM’s without bucking and jerking found in factory tune.
- Less aggressive ABS / DTC bike intervention for more experienced rider looking to shave seconds.
- Stronger idle speed to combat stalling on warm up.
- Quick shifter changes for faster, firmer and smoother operation.
- Reshaped torque model for more power at all RPM’s part or full throttle.
- 4 mode tuning (If applicable).
- All RACE ECU and factory bike drivability quirks.
- Convert your base model Panigale bike (if applicable), straight to race + R settings at no additional cost.
- Exhaust valve on/off (if applicable).

Pricing for the handheld device, mapping for pump gas and race gas, software and everything that you need to get going is retail priced at $995.
