Chain and sprockets

I use the SUPERLIGHT sprocket setups, as the name implies they are light, but also super easy to change gearing with those.

Generally run a 15/41 setup and find that’s the happy place for most of the tracks in SoCal

I run the superlite stuff too. But on two occasions I have received sprockets with the centerline off so there was run out at the teeth. Worth checking. They replaced both under warranty no problem.

I might be leaning toward the AEM setup, maybe with the Ghost flange.

The AEM set might be a good idea in terms of fitment.

I’m waiting to get my Sitta SBK carrier installed but I’m discouraged by the fitment issues that have been reported.

Keep in mind that this setup didn’t come with Cush drives so I’m using a set from AEM.

@Alkhater

That’s the flange I linked to earlier - really interesting to see it and it looks very nice.

Does the method used to secure the gear ring to the carrier seem secure?

Are the fitment issues you mention reported on a German website or has this come from somewhere else? I’ve seen issues reported where they are mix and matching different manufacturer’s components but I’d guess there’s potential for that to happen when you do that.

How are the cush drives secured in place? I guess there’s a lip on the hub side of the carrier?

AEM’s Ghost flange comes with the cush drives and they have a specific version of the flange for the V4. Overall costs for the Sitta and AEM setups seem similar but additional gear rings are a lot more expensive from AEM. Not that it particularly matters.

I’ll be interested to hear if you have fitment issues but it’s a really nice-looking bit of kit. 👍

It is a neat looking product.

The sprocket fasteners do look secure although in typical Italian fashion came with no instructions, so I’m not sure if they require some blue loctite.

Fitment issue was reported by @KarlKani. His carrier assembly would protrude too far so that the retaining clip could not be installed.

The Cush drives are secured by a lip in the back of the carrier.

What kind of issues have you read about?

IMHO regarding the gear ratios of course you can just ride around on a std bike and probably enjoy, but you kinda want to take advantage of the best bits of the bike at the circuit you are at, so in theory...

Approaching my braking point or the place I run out of balls, for the SF straight at BRNO I can see 170mph 6th gear but around 11750 rpm, so I need to try harder and carry more speed on to the straight or perhaps I can lower the gearing one more tooth to just be pinging the rev limiter at the point I brake...although of course it is all a compromise and the 2nd 3rd and 4th gears work well for a lot of the other sections of the track ....
