Hey John,
That one is not gonna work. I had put a link to the one I am using in the thread. The ELM has to have a FT232RL chip.

I can confirm the ELM cable that Mick posted works with the 1299. You have to be careful shopping for these cables as many of them are Chinese knock-offs despite them all looking identical. Many of them have the CH340 chipset which will not communicate with the bike. As Mick said, make sure the cable has the FTDI chipset and is compatible with the operating system of your computer. Any quality seller should list the specs of the cable.
Hey John awesome glad to hear it's all finally working now. Yeah once your service light comes on you can clear it.

Once you register and send the ECU data to JP250 at JP Diag he will will then email you the license.
Mick
Ah, OK! So it sounds like I do indeed have to register it then. No wonder none of my tools were working... lol!
Thanks Mick,
-John
I have the Multidiag as well and I am able to clear errors and test stuff like the Fan or Servo Flap.. Great software so far... I will get my oil service light in about 400 miles. Cant wait to see if I can delete it! - I am guessing I will be able to do so because I am able to clear error codes!

Yes it doesn't do anything without registering but I can't get mine to register
I am also having issues trying to register my Ecu. When I click on the blue box in the software for registering, I get an error that pops up....
