DIY Sequential Tail Light

Subscribed to thread so I can be sure to buy when you're ready to produce! You'll make a killing it you get it out before Motodynamic.

Haha "if."

If opening the tail light assembly is the bigger problem, can you just make the light and board with whatever programming it needs? Then sell me that and I'll take my tail light apart to install your led set up.

Gecko, Beautiful taillight with nice bright turn signals and brake for improved safety. Nicely done sir! I can't wait to see the front set when complete.

I'd definitely send you my smoked taillight if you figured out a cost that would make it worth your while to do the mod.

I had done this type of thing on my last car where I removed my headlights n sent them to a forum member who blacked out the inner housing and upgraded the projectors n then he shipped it back to me. Was definitely worth the cost. When you figure this out, create a feeler thread and I guarantee that you'll be swamped with this mod for a lotttttt of people.

If I were you, I'd keep this for myself and have a one off for everyone else to envy.

Just switched colors for you: Would look awesome on your bike ;)

@All: Thank you guys!
Unfortunately the OEM rear light assembly has completely different mechanical insides than the chinese ones. If I'd do more of these lights, I really had to decide first for the light housing vendor.

I've been waiting for some vendor to come out with this since I got my duc. U can count me in on this if U can mass produce it

Great job as usual Gecko. If you ever decide to make these I would without a doubt buy one from you.

Crazy work now I need a blue for hp4 and what do you say flowbrand green for tri?

I just finished the first prototype of the front turn indicators. I took two Tamburini blinkers because they can be opened easy, but I'm not really happy with the design yet.

Fantastic work Gecko. I applaud your ingenuity and creativity. I would love the rear light set up on my bike. However I am pretty sure the legislation in the UK defines a minimum spacing between turn indicators which might preclude this being legal. (Would probably run that risk saying that!) The strobes would DEFO get you a ticket in the UK though. All said and done it looks very very slick and well executed. If you can find a vendor in China who can produce the light unit in a good quality plastic that accurately emulates the factory OEM version, then you are on to a sure fire winner. Well done.

Thank you topolino. I am aware of european legal issues. ACLs are switchable, also the logic has a"police"-input line that immediately disables all fancy functions. I already realized a "bridge" and an "OEM" mode that makes behaving the rear light without any non-legal signalling. double0's blue mode is also integrated.

Yesterday I finished hardware and software of the integrated accelerometer (same chip as found in smart phones). Tried to bring it up to work in the car first. It looked good, so I put it on the Panigale. Results were terrible, this bike is a vibrating mess :) :)

After adding a low pass filter (to reduce measuring noise) and a high pass filter (to eliminate earth's gravity influencing the sensor readings when the bike's pitch changes) "heavy" brake detections works now.

I hope I get news from a friend next week about the tail light housings.
