I'm in! Fabulous work Gecko. Taking delivery of my 1299 Anniversario tommorow. Would love to have this. I am definately in line with money in hand. Just as others have mentioned i would gladly provide whatever materials needed if you would be willing to put one together for me.

Good luck in mass producing this project Gecko. Hope my suggestive input brings new ideas. I'll definitely be buying your work of art!

Hello from Singapore!

Hello from Singapore!

I appreciate your help! It's really nice to find out that a lot of people around the globe share similar ideas in design and functionality.

I'd love to bring this thing to production. It's just that I am stuck right now with multiple little obstacles.

amazing.

I'm in for the rear light :)

Btw, not sure if anyone has asked but how visible are these lights in sunlight ?

Just checking to see if these are better than stock.

Been telling all my friends about this. We'd LOVE to have a set of these!

Everything you're doing is BA as usual man! Keep it up!

Nope, nobody asked :)
I am wondering as well. Plan is to install it next weekend.
The last two nights I was working on the interface cabling and electronics.
The set is now completely galvanically isolated from the rest of the Panigale electronics. It does not affect decharging of the battery and cables are now a real plug'n'play solution. No splicing, no hassle with cable colours. Also I had to design it that way that the BBS cannot be harmed under any cirumstance.

About brightness: It's dependend on the colours. Lowest is blue. I can run the LEDs up to 18W, which is really very bright (and white). According to my calculations red should be lightly brighter than the OEM setup and the orange blinkers should be about the same as OEM.

How about you send an OEM one to China for them to copy. Or if anyone has an integrated tail light already, they could check on the moulding for a manufacturers name and pass the details on to you. I imagine it is very expensive to make an injection mould for this part unless you are purchasing them in large quantities, so it might be hard to find someone to produce them at a real world price point and yet retain reasonable build quality at an affordable price. As far as I know TYC Brother Industrial make the Diavel lights for the factory. You could try Sammoon in China. Many of the manufacturers are based in Taiwan. Have a look at this article:

Perhaps if you drop a few companies an email, they could point you in the direction of a manufacturer prepared to make the moulds and produce them for you.

I did already!
I checked with local companies to make the housings in plastic, aluminium and carbon fiber. All too expensive.

I wrote to guys in Hongkong, Taiwan and China. No replies at all or extremly stupid responses. I really don't know how to cope with asian dealers :(
Also wrote to importers in Germany and Switzerland. They can't or don't want help.

Last year I tried to get a job done in asia for Ti bolts: same results. After months of mailing they still asked "how are you brother". I don't know, I'm clueless. Can't speak their language....

BTW: The absolute coolest response was a guy from Taiwan who tried to convince me that the my tail light shown on my youtube video is a product from him!
Jeeezez!!!

Anyway...
The guy who brings me into contact with a person that sells the open housing for a reasonable price gets a tail light for free, with custom light effects according his desires!

It seems that I can get my hands on new open tail light housings from China!

Amazing stuff Urs, put me down for a set when you get them going. Looks like you'll have a full time gig just doing these for forum members.

Cheers

Yeap. Still a lot of things are not solved yet. Especially manucaturing of the new harness gives me headaches.

Also I'm unsure about demand details:
clear or tinted glass?
shall turn indicators still be installable or should I implement additional loads in the circuit to fake their existence to the BBS?

Just tried to put a list together of possible buyers (please excuse if I forgot somebody).
Please note that this is really almost a full time job for me, the whole thing contains a lot of parts (more than 300) and is pretty complicated. I won't be able to finish the work before end of the year I guess. Too much companies involved that I have to rely on.
Also I wont be able to produce it as cheap as Motordynamic. But It's going to be a clever and true sequential tail light, better as shown in my first video.
I can implement light effects according to your wishes.
