I beg to differ but can you tell me what parts are included extra than on the Speciale? Aside from the dry clutch and the Mag rims?

I paid 38.5k € for my Speciale with mag rims and I got Akrapovic race exhaust, race upmap & 226bhp besides of all the Rizoma goodies that are more or less present on the 916 Aniv too

It has the Ducati Corse front frame - not sure if this is the same that is fitted to the R?

sounds like a good deal on your Speciale :)

I read somewhere that it is the V4R front frame.
It's on the Ducati website

As usual...

I like the bike, but not the price lol.

42,5 k us?

It means it will be like 60k aus when it gets here.

The v4R here is selling for 65k...

My dealer said they think they will have trouble selling them for $42,500 as the V4R is 40k. I think Ducati has gone the way of MV with constant editions, lol, but what do I know?

The rims and frame are nice things to have BUT those magnesium rims are ONLY 1 single pound lighter than the S/R wheels, I know because I have both sets.

The frame I can certainly feel a difference but where I feel Ducati really missed the mark is not including the same fork Yamaha is offering on the 2020 R1M which happens to be a electronic-assisted version of the V4R fork. That FRK technology on the compression side is a real game-changer IMHO.

Lot of difference between low $40's for a top shelf Ducati and high 20's for the RIM. As everyone knows there has always been a premium for Ducati ownership and re sale is always better but now the gap is unbelievably high. It'll be interesting to see how many sales are lost to the BMW and Yamaha high end models.

If its more than the v4 R i agree, they will struggle to move it.

Back in the day companies used to do special edition models to help get rid of excesss stock/ hard to sell vehicles.

If you take the new r1m for a burn let us know how you go/what you think.

Heard the same so arguably Ducati sold them too cheap?

Well MV also just sold out of their 2 latest editions of 300 each (Superveloce 800 Serie Oro goes for €28,000 MSRP, while the MV Agusta Brutale 1000 Serie Oro IS €43,000 MSRP). They combined value of those is about 21 million euros.

People are buying these bikes up so who knows.

They sell because MV makes some gorgeous motorcycles. You already don't see many MV's on the road compared to other brands so the fact that they're limited, makes them that much more in demand for those that can afford it. I think their 675/800 RC's are probably the best looking middle class bikes out there, even better than the 899/959.

The Foggy edition will be £37,000 in the UK. Thats not bad value when you weigh up all the parts on it in comparison to the Speciale say and it's more exclusive.

In Australia an 800RC is about $5000 more than a 959 corse so they really command a premium. But as you said very nice looking thing but for me it would be the corse.
