First Impressions.... Is it supposed to ride this chuggy?

Mine runs better on normal Unleaded (95ron) rather than super (97/98ron).

So, picked up my 1199s today. Only been on one very short ride. But here is my question. I read that it doesn't like to go slow and can chug/hesitate a little. And that couldn't be more true. It did NOT like going under 30, and seemed chuggy. Could it be the EBC?
Also, it was a 10 minute ride and it got HOT lol.
I knew this was what I was getting in to. Coming from cheap jap bikes and beemers that were butter smooth, I thought something was wrong with this thing lol. Just making sure i'm not crazy.
Thanks guys. And sorry for the newbie questions!

From factory the 1199 has a pretty ...... torque band with a large hole in the middle of the rpm range.
You can see from my dyno graph (Blue line is full akra and custom tune, Red is completely standard)

a good quality exhaust and full custom tune will help improve this issue by about 80%

Also i found when my bike was stock, it was alot less "Chuggy" running in 195Lo compare to 195Hi

Second Impressions:

Took her for a longer ride finally. I definitely like her better after going on a longer ride. Still chuggy though.

How do you guys fix the sliding forward thing? I slid forward every single time I slowed down. This was seriously frustrating.

And what do you do about burning your knees? I seriously think my knees are burnt lol.

I re trimmed mine with the same material as the sports seat stops my ass from sliding forward

.

You should not be getting that bike out of second gear on that island, maybe 3rd on the freeway.

2nd tops out at 100mph. These bikes like high RPM.

Its a race bike and demands to be beat up on.

recover the seat with better material, I just use my knees.

So far you've dealt with:

Heat
Seat
Fuelling

I assuming they have fixed:

Melting dash
Condensation in dash
Melting fairing around exhaust
Swing-arm bolts coming loose
Indicators failing

So you should be good ;)

What's the deal with the indicators failing?
Already had that happen once lol

My indicators previously gave a problem in that the right side sometimes did not want to indicate. Now the right side still does not want to indicate, but the left side now does not want to stop indicating once activated.

Are you running ethanol-free gas?

It's not available in our area. But I do not believe that what we are talking about in this thread could be a factor of the gas. Just my opinion based upon the fact that I've ridden three different Ducati's and they have all done it to some degree. The other two are an 1198 and Multistrada.

I often switch to wet mode when going through towns with a 35 MPH speed limit. It really improves the throttle and engine smoothness.
Any time spent riding under 50 MPH will make your bike hot.
