‘22 V4 first impression & track prep questions

I also used the HEL dual rear master so I did retain the rear brake pedal meaning you can use foot or thumb (though not both at the same time)

Good quality and an easy fit. I retained it through the ABS unit although as I run in Race A its front only...

Nice setup Andy. I notice that you have some numbers around the swinging arm spindle, have you managed to retrofit an adjustable SA pivot to your bike, or am I misreading the photo? Thanks

This just happened… I rode my ‘22 V4 base about a mile to my place.

My first impression is that it’s loud… significantly louder than my SF even with the homologated Akra.

Throttle response at the lower rev range and ride ability is much better… it feels crisp and smooth as does the QS.

My first question is with regards to the recent DTC, EBC, QS eco 2 update. For the guys that have done this… is there a way to verify it?

Questions regarding track prep…

I ordered the Ohlins DU 468 and FKR cartridges but haven’t been able to source a place to get springs from. Does anyone know a place that may have them in stock?

Also, the DU 468 seems to have 160 & 150mm springs available. I’m about 70kg (160lbs) with gear so I’m thinking I should get an 85 N/mm shock spring and 8.5 N/mm fork springs.

I found Ohlins recommendations for fork spring to rider weight but haven’t been able to find shock spring recommendations.

Any thoughts?

Thanks

Tom from TGP is an Oehlins expert. He has many Panigale V4 customers. I can get you guys in touch and he can for sure get you all the normal and also some special parts.

the bike is a 22 base.. which has the SA pivot fixed at the top adjustment of the previous R. The numbers you can see are just on the rear sets as I used the full spider ones that include the brace

OK so this project has taken an unexpected turn.

I've decided to give the bike to my friend and brother in law so it might not progress as originally intended. I will offer him all the parts i have and have ordered for it but he isn't into track riding so we'll see how it goes.

Any progress or significant experience will still be shared.

One thing i did notice while taking the bike to him is that the Panigale runs significantly hotter than the SF. That and the rider position really solidifies my opinion that the Pani is a horrible street bike. Admittedly... I am giving myself every reason not to be sad about this parting 🤣 as i was really looking forward to thrashing it on track. It is a great bike and a significant improvement from last year.

I now aspire to get another of my own ❤️

You’re giving it to him - like, as a free gift?

What a strange thread...and far outside the reality of my world (although I did give my friend a screwdriver recently...for free).
