Heads up on RaceSeat fitment on 22 pV4

Btw, just checked and the holes in my seat are too small for the screws as well. Hadn’t tried fitting it yet as I couldn’t ride anyway. I will just drill them out carefully after a quick test fit to see if they line up.

Do you have a 22 V4? If so, you might want to try test fitting it. You only have 10 days from delivery for the warranty to correct things.

There is clearly not enough material in the seat base around the mounting holes to utilise the std stepped screw it has nothing to press down against like the original seat
It would bolt down with normal screws or you could realign the holes using a stepped spacer and use a normal screw in that .

@Steven31371, would you mind sharing the dimensions of the grommets and screws that you are using? The seat seems to be designed with those in mind so I will try to get hold of those before drilling out the seat.

Yup. Sent them an email on how to rectify it. I thought I did order a custom one but I guess we weren’t on the same page. And when they send photos they really should have something that you can reference like a stock seat to compare it too especially when it comes to seat height and profile.

The bolt holes not lining up is a big concern though. Whoever drilled those holes or made the template might’ve had a bit too much vino at the time.

go on you can say it........YOU ordered the wrong item, YOU weren't on the same page YOU didn't look at the photos and clarify what it was you were buying.....not Race seats fault! Simples!

Dude, the part number he listed is the correct one for the ‘22 model.

but its not what he wants .......Dude! ;) caveat emptor

So the 22 thing is a red herring in that a 2018 seat fitment mounting holes are the same as a 22 they just changed from a washer and screw to a shaped screw.

I don't know where you get this fish nonsense. I have a 2021 Panigale and owned a 2020 Streetfighter. Both used a shouldered screw from the factory.

I’ve had a 2020 and a 2022 panigale and they have both been shouldered screw ….. it was all the earlier talk about grommets….bollox

Andy doesn’t read good. Not the brightest bulb but we still love him. Maybe Andy drilled this hole that’s why it’s so cock-eyed.

Anyway, in contact with Raceseats and hopefully they can resolve this. But sweet Jesus it’s a process. So slow. Seems they can only send out 1 email a day like there’s a cap on how many emails. Gotta love Italian productivity or lack there of.

Unless this gets fixed properly, I’d recommend going the Ducati Performance race seat if you want a simple solution. This is beginning to be too much work.

I should think they dread sending out stuff to clients that are clueless with what they ordered and how it fits.....I can see Tony sitting there rolling his eyes we've got another one.. Hi is that race seats, yeah I bought this specific number from you, but its not what I want, its your fault! I can't get it to fit, its your fault! Its not the right size and shape... its your fault... I know what a parallelogram is you know!!!!!

Serious question… how can a seat be any lower than the stock seat? Unless it’s a 5mm foam pad. The ‘22 seat is slim af.

Oh… did I mention that I’m trying to de-douche this thread? Or am I being presumptive? 🙄

On a serious note… I’ll install the DP race seat and feedback the impressions.

If they did dread the kind of customer you’re talking about maybe they’d bother confirming if what that person ordered is in fact what they’re going to send him.

Yeah it was very unexpected. I was expecting stock seat height. There was no mention from Raceseats that it would be lower. They just say it’s “wider and higher on sides” and that it uses a “3 mm cover.” I tried talking to them about this and Elisa basically said to deal with it even though I tried explaining what I wanted.
