Sorry but that picture is so ....... big, it screwed up the orientation of the whole thread on my iPad, thanks! :D

Two things... That letter seems to have these reflections on the "R" model and no mention of the base and "S", I wonder if this was just geared toward an "R" customer but will be passed down to the other models

also seems the heat shield has been in the works for a bit now if you look at the Japanese version of the bike it has the valve cover...cover.

It was first mentioned here September that DNA was doing it, so yes.

I think the exhaust shield looks ugly, but at the end of the day I want to be able to ride the bike on warm-hot days in Sydney, so Im installing as soon as they become available.

The traffic here is terrible at the best of times and getting stuck trying to get out of the city in hot weather is the worst! The bike is much hotter <80km/h then my 848 and 1098 were. For me the heat on a warm day is to the point where I get so agitated it affects my concentration on the bike. And when that happens, accidents can happen.

I ceramic coated the exhaust, ran the thermotec header wraps and have even added heat shield under the stock shield and the improvement has been marginal. I'm hoping this solution works. In the cool winter months you should be able to swap it out and use the heat for warmth.

-- side note -- during winter I definitely appreciated the additional heat. It's only been since the warmer months started did I realise what everyone in the US (who had just gone through their summer at the time) had been talking about.

Yep, i think we all are just waiting for the release date here (in the US), as it will be heating up soon enough!!

Oh well im taking my bike in for the first service in a week so I will ask them if they heard any news.

1st of its kind

i dont like it but i hope for new models come out that there a option to have to replace or removed to the older one.

BlueBear, is that your bike? and also the question I really have is does this help in any large margin to justify getting it installed? Is it night and day difference?

Thanks

No sorry not my bike. Just sumfin i found on youtube hoping sumone would post this.

I no longer have problems with the seat heat that the header was causing due to the cermaic coat and race seat. I do how ever get the right inner thigh heat from the head where your legs wrap around. I think I will only get the head cover and leave the current Termi CF heat sheild on if that is an option unless the new Termi CF heat sheild looks good.

head cover - that's it. i'd rather have blisters on my legs (had none so far) than this heat shield.

interesting what i found here, they even have a heat shield for the rear tire: [[sorry for the size]]]

I am just wondering if the brake calipers are the brand new Brembo GP4-RX Calipers ? Brake lines look like Bremzen stainless steel (which I have on my 1098). The Brembo GP4-RX 100mm are *really* hard to get ahold of in USA and Canada.

I am sticking with the Ceramic Coated Termi, race seat and seeing how all this plays out. A Carbon Fiber engine guard would be a nice addition ;)

I think you're right, the pic is so BIG it is easy to tell! :)
