there is no space on this bike! lol this was the best location for a clean n tidy install. i spent 4 hours doing this job. the end result is pure sex, there is so much light at night that i wear my dark helmet visor. :D

also i installed 6k which is a WHITE white. but if you want to match the leds, 5K will be better.

What brand/model/supplier did you use?

R&G is what i waent with. i took a risk and mounted on the left side behind the main section of the left side fairing, towards the top. The right side is mounted further back in the upper smaller section.

I'd use the ddm tuning 35W kit, and go from there, i think you could place one on or near the coolant bottle and the right side there is a slot for ONLY SLIM BALLAST, between the fairing and front cowel. that's my trial and error

Vicious, my friend and I are going to tackle this here shortly, do you have pics of where you put the hi-beam ballasts. Having put some on top of the headlight and now some in the faring area, if you had to choose one location for just low beams which do you prefer. Is there a reason you prefer it?

Thanks!

to be honest with you Colorado S14, i think placing them in the head unit is BAD, for two reasons: the first being if you ever have to go back and check connections, do you really want to spend the 2 hours removing the fairing? the second reason is those ballasts produce heat and you want to have some kind of air flow going around them. My dealer has warned me of potential problems due to the interference from the ballasts to the lights(this is the humming sound you hear upon initial start up, and the signal from the continous use while on).
haven't done the kit upgrade yet, BUT looking at the bike from the sides I think that you could stuff one ballast on the brake side in a slot near front fairing zip tie to something. On clutch side possible zip tie to or near coolant bottle, keeping thr ballast away from the ECU. THIS is why i started this thread, if someone had done brackets towards the open end of the fairing that might be better, however keep in mind the length of wiring you have. there is not a lot of room on this bike thats why i would only do LOW beams and install silver star high beams(better light bulb, or L.E.D, if possiblly)

good luck

@zaid

update after 3000 miles. ive been in severe rain storm, twice. zero issues, zero interference, no heat issues... :D

thanks vic!! thats what i assumed, however i think ducati was trying to cover their ....., and didnt want to have any other issues besides the recalls. IM doing the install possibly over the winter, (THANKS hurricane freaking sandy), or just before i take out next year in spring.
