Wow.. this is nuts.

I almost didn't move to a duc when I started pricing out insurance. I was between the 899/1199 and it was the same quote for both, which ranged from $1200yr to $3800/yr with a $500 deductible and full coverage. I almost just got the 1199 on the principle that I may as well get my friggin money's worth! LOL

Coming off my 2011 GSXR 600, this was still sticker shock as I went from $549/year for the same coverage for ~300 more cc's???!?

It's Progressive that had the best quote for me in the end as some of these companies are smokin' something for sure. Riders isn't offered where I live but I would be so F(*&@*#@& pizzed off if this was too quadruple overnight as well.

Don't sell it!!! :(

i live in ny and i cant get rider either. this is a nj thing . for now i hope :(

I just ran a new quote... If I stay with Rider my insurance will go up $1164 over my current $800 a year policy for both bikes.

Whats killing me is when you see the break down the PS1000LE is only a $100 cheaper than the 1199.

Insurance Renewal-Ouch

Rider Insurance sent me a letter a week ago warning me that the Panigale had been reclassified as a Sport/High Performance bike and that I'll be getting my renewal letter any day. Hum I think, maybe it's going to be a couple hundred higher. I can handle that.

Last year when I bought the Panigale, the agent said they consider it a standard motorcycle. "Really" I say, then I proceeded to accept the $363 quote, $50K/$25K liability coverage with $1000 Deductibles. Adding my 07 CBR600, liability only, brought the total policy to $464--not bad.

So yesterday I get the renewal policy quote: $1,405:eek:. Come on, are they serious. That's triple what I paid last year. No accidents or tickets. 51 year old divorced/single male.

I'll start making the calls to other insurance companies this week. Given all the Geico Motorcycle commercials, that'll be one call.

Has this happened to anybody else here? If so any recommendations?

Your coverage is really low... Any good reason? The Gecko quoted my 4 times the price of Statefarm. I was not impressed.....
Call Statefarm and good luck.

Check AAA

AAA writes their policy through Progressive. I had my 2014 Sierra and my home owners with them and i'm 37 with no tickets or accidents and AAA quoted me 5600.00 a year.

I transferred everything over to Statefarm and got the Pani insurance for 82.00 a month

Everything depends on where you live (city/state). Best thing you can do is call around. I get AAA for about $800 for the year with high limits and only $100 deductible but that doesn't mean the next Joe in another city n state will get the same price.

150$'a month State Farm, California..
Geico and progressive around 350-500 a month,,
I asked if I misheard ?? Year or 6month they repeated per month,
I canceled police same day I got the bike and went to farmers.

Still my zx was 30$ a month 5x the fun I guess

Mark and a few other guys here had me contact guys at different State Farm agencies and they gave me good quotes for next year for full coverage after this Rider reclassification. I was hearing $1000-1200 full coverage from them, but due to my driving record they would only take me at State Farm if I wrote my car policy through them too; so I had them quote me on my new 2014 Nissan Altima- $4000 for 12 months. Out of their minds. I pay $1200 a year for my Altima through Geico. Most likely I'll be finding a MSF Course to take, (Geico discount) and get Geico when my renewal comes up.

Also, be glad yours was only 3 times. My policy came out to be 4.24 times what it previously was. Gooodbye Rider!
