If you haven't seen it already, EDR has picked up RB and has some comments on their FB page today after working an 1199r on the dyno with it.

DAMN RIGHT !!!!

PLEASE NOTE: 183 is RB racing installed but not tuned by Eric. You can clearly see the potential .

Eric and his crew do good work... a very passionate guy.

He'll be putting the MWR SBK filter and RB race on my 1199S track bike next week (hopefully). Will be interesting to see the differences between the S and the R motor.

Does the Rapidbike Race module also map each gear individually as my PCV with Autotune does?

On the Ducatis, there is no gear postion sensor (externally), so if RB cannot read the sensor signal, it wont use it. Unlike PC5, which guesses what gear you are in.

There is a specific wire that Alain connected from the PCV to the Dragon Lady's wiring harness and as far as I understand she does not guess the gear but reads the exact gear from the Dragon Lady's gear sensor. It works hand in hand with a new program that Alain loaded on my ECU.

Yes, whatever you do with the bike, RB will adapt, even if you don't have the correct base map in the case of having RB EVO on your bike. However if you have RB Racing module, each specific base map comes with specific ignition mapping as well and there are some differences between the maps where RB does not adjust as it does with fueling part of the system.
Thanks
YTURAN, surely the amount of advance has to be related to the quality and octane rating of the gasoline being used? For instance, here in California, we only have 91 octane gas and it has varying levels of ethanol in it and is also sometimes oxygenated. How can the guys program the unit to allow for local gasoline issues?

I'm maybe asking something stupid, but I'm looking forward to buy a full Akrapovic or full Termignoni (the new one without upmap) so I will need a new map. My question is if RB does interfere with the standard Panigale TC? If I understand correctly my ECU adjusts first ignition and if it's not enough it adjusts additionally fuelling if it detects wheelspin. Could RB detect the fuelling adjustments made by the ECU under hard wheelspin as the bike running to lean and therefore void traction control?

Anyone else notice this comment from EDR on that dyno chart? First I am hearing of the Panigale having a throttle restriction. Dorn knows his stuff.

EDRPERFORMANCE Throttle! Oem Ecu doesn't allow full true 1:1 throttle until after 7,500rpm! It's poorly designed but possibly to help EPA or save trans wear or detonation control but it's bad. Wish 1:1 or at least a more linear execution.

Octane of fuel has a very little effect on the tune and when i say that we are talkin g 89 vs 93 as far as afr goes, what makes a difference is the level of oxygenation and ethanol , more of those 2 will cause bike to run which rb can detect BUT , if the politics decide to go over more than 10% , rb tune ned to be checked, that is why we don't sell or ship to brasil, they have 25% ethanol in their fuel and rb has to be adjusted on the dyno. As far as ignition timing goes, all rb maps have been tested and the number are in safe levels, but if one wants to to if you can get more out of it, again dyno check is your best best.

No rb does not alter or interfere with TC at all.

What Eric is saying is, if you happen to open the throttle to wide open below 7500 rpm , butterflies don't go to 100% until bike passes 7500 and speed of opening is not as fast as you are opening the throttle.

Oh I know what he is saying, it's the same thing that the stock R1/R6 do. It was really noticeable on my R6 racebike. Getting rid of that dramatically improved rideability on corner exit.

HELP!!!

i recently bought a rapid bike racing that i'm having issues with, i have installed it as per instructions, got it all hooked up and ready to start i hit the starter button and nothing. it turns over but just wont fire up
i've checked and double checked all the connections and they are all fine.

so i put everything back to standard to see if i had disturbed something during install but i hadn't, it started fine.

it was specified that it was for the 1199 when i bought it and the loom is correct, does it need to be plugged into a computer before the bike will run? or does it come from the factory ready to run on the specified bike?

I got it off ebay, i'm in the uk, as far as i can see theres nobody in the uk that deals with them.
maybe i should have gone for an option that has a bit more support in this country.
i've messaged dimsport directly i just though i'd post here as well.
My ecu is standard.

Have you tried connecting the module to a computer with the USB cable, and downloading the Rapid Bike Master (Free) software. Then you can see which map is loaded to the module and load the 1199 map if something else is loaded.

Had the same problem when I put in my Rapid Bike Race module. Yes I also thought I had everything properly connected. Bike would turn over but not fire. Sat down, relaxed and went back and checked ALL connections carefully, writing down each connection as I verified them..... and by God there was one loose connection. Snapped that one connection together and presto she fired up.

I have 1000km on the module now.....huge difference in the bike regarding throttle control, smoother engine and more midrange. Another month should tell me how much if any change there is in the bike operating in warmer climate - as our weather up here in Canada is still below freezing in the morning. Cold starts are better for sure ..... now waiting for +25C to see if the bike likes the warmer temperatures.

Overall this is the best $1000 dollars I have spent so far on the bike.

i wish it was that easy for me.... i plug the module into the computer, it recognises it as being plugged in but wont connect to the program. it just says "Error rapid bike not connected"

i've checked and double checked everything is present and correct, no such luck.
anyways this is the least of my worries now, i've just taken delivery of my Dymag carbon wheels and the hub on the front wheel is 10mm too narrow!!
i'm sick of this week already!!

Well...... i figured out what the issue is. dimsport have been fantastic but after not getting anywhere with any of their solutions they provided i decided to open up the module to have a look inside.

what did i find?

Drum roll please!!

NOTHING!

thats right no chip inside the module.

my cheap ebay deal has turned into a expensive lesson.
