Well...... i figured out what the issue is. dimsport have been fantastic but after not getting anywhere with any of their solutions they provided i decided to open up the module to have a look inside.

Drum roll please!!

NOTHING!

thats right no chip inside the module.

my cheap ebay deal has turned into a expensive lesson.

Wow.... what a rip off...... Dispute it...

i have done, though its a little late to do the whole money back guarantee, i was collecting loads of bits and fitting them all at once. by the time i'd got all the bits and started fitting them my 30 day period is up. :(

so i best order one from a reputable seller, does anybody know of any in Europe?

i may have to get one from the U.S if not.

I've mounted a RB race unit on my bike this winter + HM quickshifter.

Took the bike to the track yesterday, worked ok the first sessions. But in the middle of one session at a straight, the bike suddenly started act similar to like i have activated a pitlimiter (which i doesn't have) when i tried to turn the throttle. As soon as i tried to open the throttle the same thing happned.

After a while it started to work again. No error message or nothing!
Checked all of the connections to the unit, looked ok. The sessions after that one the bike worked as it should but on the last session of the day the same thing.

Has anyone any experienced this kind of problem before? It almost felt like the bike did go in to some kind of safemode, but if that should have been the case shouldn't i get an errorcode?

Hi Robnek,
I have had the exact same thing happen to me....:( twice...
Coming out of a corner, trying to get on the gas the bike stutters like if the pit limiter had been activated. I pulled the clutch and opened the throttle a couple of times and then the stutter was gone. Drove directly in pit, trying to figure out what had happened. But there was on error codes or nothing.
Went out for two more sessions with no problems, but in the third session the bike did the exact same thing.....
If you find a solution please let me know.

Ok, seems like we suffered exactly the same problem!
The problem also disappeared when i pulled the clutchlever and opened the throttle. Spoked with the guy i bought the RB unit from and he told me that he also had this problem a couple of times, but didn ´t find any solution. Thanks for telling me that!!
I ´ll let you know if i find what causes this error.

I must be the luckiest person when it comes to mods. I bought the RB race for my R from
bellisimoto. Put it on, never hooked it up to a computer, or anything, only ran it a the track for 30 laps and now when you kick it over from cold the exhaust drips water, no carbon or soot residue.

Throttle seems smoother and the powers seems more linear.

Was there something else that I was suppose to do? I treated it as plug-n-play, cause that is what it is advertised as. I'm not modding the engine as of yet so I see no need to play with all the other functions.

I'm I wrong?

+1
Same thing happened last night to me heading out on highway. Lost throttle control, had to slip clutch to keep engine from dying. Bike was surging and stayed in first gear, loosing power. Lasted for 5 minutes as I creeped down shoulder on highway for 10 kilometers. Then as suddenly as symptoms appeared, the bike was back keep to normal.I assumed bad gas but clearly the problem is being exexperienced by others. No error codes.

I am not sure why this happening to all of out of USA bikes. I will contact dimsport to see if they have any suggestions. Here in the States , out of a lot of 1199 kits have have sold and sell everyday, there were no "reported" issues that we know of. This could be the fuel or programming issue or anything but

For those of you live in Europe , the proper action is to contact dimsport

We usually get the calls and it almost always ends up being an installation or playing with settings and not knowing the software. I mean this is not Panigale related , just in general. Heck we had a Moto Guzzi customer used the RB for almost a whole year and he was having some backfiring problems and when I looked at his settings, he reset the TPS (absolutely NO NEED) and rb was operation and reading at 100% throttle at all times. easy fix but he never did need to play with that setting at all.

Some times people go in and except the changes too many time and depending on how the bike was ridden the very last correction map may be on rich on lean side and by excepting every change you get , you really are getting your base map far from being perfect. I just recommend after the 200-300 miles except the change and let the RB do its thing in the background, IT WILL correct itself!

I don ´t use the autotuning function on my bike, the mapping is done by a tuner. I ´ll Contact Dimsport to se if they have any idea why this problem occur.

Regarding the TPS, i ´m pretty sure the tuner did a reset on that!
The working range on my TPS right now is 0.6V-1.5V and 0-24%
Is that correct??

Att.pic Reading at full throttle, with Engine off.

Yes that is correct, it only goes to 24% wide open with the engine off because of the fly by wire. I am sure you know better but please do not attempt to rev it wide open unless the bike is on a dyno machine :D

If you go to RB Features tab > Calibrate > you should see the values in for min and max throttle. please don't click on the calibrate if the bike is running , it will start to calibrate and you will mess up the max setting (unless of course if the bike is on the dyno ,which would be the only way of calibrating)

Are you also using a map switch ?

I have a mapswitch installed but haven't used it (activated it). My plan was to have one map for DB-killers installed and one map without DB-killers. But the tuner didn't have time to make a "Non DB-killer map" for me so i've never activated the switch.

YTURAN,

Love this product! Love it! Thanks to JeffD and your support!

I will ride her a few more tanks of gas to get her to adjust to the altitude and the mods I have so far.

Thank you again for a great product!

I have the RB Evo, and over the last few months there have been quite a few firmware updates from 1.0.41 to 1.0.45. I was wondering if there are any changelogs available for the firmware updates to see what is being changed and improved on. I am always curious to what is being done and wanted to check is any information was available :)

Excellent question and I will find out for you, as far as we are told, the firmware updates apply to all, not panigale specific with the new models coming out, most of the updates were for the O2 sensor management .

Big shout out to Yaman and The Cycle Pro for handling my situation with my mechanics here in Canada who were out to lunch and damaged the harness when I took it in for a spring service in Toronto..

Yaman was always in touch with me and exceeded my expectations with his customer support and guidance...Of course the harness was damaged and Yaman had it replaced though the Mechanics here who worked on my bike are claiming they were not responsible for its damage...(This is the same place where I purchased my 1199sTricolore and all my last 4 ducatis.. They are the highest volume selling ducati in canada, so the pricing is better then any competitors ..)

They also destroyed my brand new shorai lithium iron battery I purchased for Ducati Omaha

I really wish we had guys like Yaman's The Cycle Pro or Ducati Omaha or Ducshop up here in Toronto who could really do wonders on these bikes and not these oblivious ........s who claim they can "do the job" ..

Thanks again Yaman:eek:
