What the blazing hell is on the Speciale that is worth a massive $13k MORE!?!
That is just bonkers. If you buy this you are crazy. You will be able to buy a V4R for that money due to the WSB rules.

Well, it comes with a nearly $6k exhaust system for starters.....

the difference afaict
Carbon fibre front/rear mudguards, Machined-from-solid top yoke with identification number, Alcantara seat, Dedicated handle grips, Adjustable foot pegs, Carbon fiber heel guard, Carbon fiber cover swinging arm, Racing articulated levers, Racing fuel tank cap, Brake level protection
Ducati Performance by Akrapovic Titanium full-racing exhaust system, Racing windshield, Machined mirror block-off plates, License plate mount removal plug, Ducati Data Analyser+ (DDA+) with GPS module, Paddock bike cover

And paint scheme

unless I'm missing something

What is the exact price of the full race system Jarel and does it come with the bellypan as shown on the Speciale (open/exposed pipe section)

I know the S and Base can have a bellypan and Akra silencer kit as well if preferred but I'm only interested in the full system.

Was at the dealer today, looking at options.
Wow if I want the bike with the green and white in the paint it's like double the price.

Local dealer has a pic of the 1299 next to the V4, in some angles the 1299 looks better IMO.

Can anyone place a pic superimposing the torque curve of the 1299 against the V4?
Would love to see the performance difference and where it's made in the rev range.
I'm not one for just top speed and my riding style is more suited to the bottom end and mid range. So seeing the curve would help me in the decision to place an order for the V4

As it is the base 1299 is way more than my riding ability can handle, so to change now will only be for ego and we all know how big my ego is :D

If the Akra system is $6K that leaves almost $7K comprised of largely raiding the accessories catalogue and a paintjob. I am fairly sure bar the top yoke, you could paint a base or an S, add all the accessories and spend the 6K on the exhaust and still come out better off. OK it's not a Speciale (so let's not start that discussion). Personally a base or an S with the full race system or even the slip ons will give you up to 226bhp and a shed load of extra cash to do with the bike what you wish.

Price in Sweden,6250$ (For a full standard system, non wsbk)
Wonder what Reparto Corse Termi's will cost..

No one who buys the Speciale is entering their data into a spreadsheet and calculating the cost-benefit ratios. It's a limited edition Ducati that comes with some cool/special things, looks great, and is a numbered bike, and anyone who is a Ducatisi will know what that bike is when you pull up on it. That's the extent of it, there's nothing else to talk about really.

Limited edition Ducati, wich one isnt that nowadays Jarel? ;)
I think the base version is the special one..

Agree. And with a 1500 bike designation, its really not limited that much at all.
They would probs have not sold an extra 500 on that, as the price is bollox.
Why not make it more of a rarity if it really is so special?
Back to the old days of 200 or 500 of a particular "special".

I'm with you on that. Not contesting the point. Merely indicating that for those that cannot stretch financially to the Speciale, they can get close to what it offers in terms of performance and accessories for more a manageable sum bar perhaps the paintwork and exclusivity, which may well suit them. Are you able to confirm BTW if the full system comes with the bellypan (as per that fitted on the Speciale)

Just saw the launch photos and that video - the engine sounds ridiculous!!! Best wait a year after launch for me.

Why is the displacement 1100cc?

I'll post links later.

no you cannot turn a v4s to the same spec as the Speciale.
v4s is 214 hp / 91.5 lb-ft
Speciale is 226 hp same torque
Still not worth 13k more but imagine how much the v4r will cost when that model comes out. Wouldn't surprise me if its very close to 50k

The 12HP increase is due to the Akrapovic full race exhaust, same exhaust you can buy for the other V4 models for ~$5,700. A future R model would have to be price-capped at 40K EURO per World Superbike rules.

Straight from Domenicali's mouth, the displacement is 1100cc because they liked the balance of torque with the extra 100cc's for a road-going machine, and he said Ducati doesn't agree or follow with some arbitrary limit on what size engines should be on street bikes. He said we can make it an 1100cc and it makes a great motor, so why not?

The R model will have to be under 1000cc and if it follows prior trends will probably have similar power output with slightly less torque.

Sorry, I can't answer that yet, we don't have full visibility on what's included with the kit at this point.

Wrong!! As Jarel has said you can bolt the full Akra system on a base or an S and achieve 226bhp. No difference in power output across all three models in that instance.
