How many will buy a 1299 twin instead of new V4?

Wrong!! As Jarel has said you can bolt the full Akra system on a base or an S and achieve 226bhp. No difference in power output across all three models in that instance.

then what are you getting for the extra 13k? I think ducati is asking to much now for their bikes.

Here is the current info I have on what is coming with the V4 Speciale:

· "Speciale" livery bodywork
· Individually numbered and laser-etched top triple clamp
· Carbon fiber front fender
· Carbon fiber rear hugger
· Seat upholstered in Alcantara
· Sport grips (similar to SL2)
· Adjustable Ducati Performance billet rearsets
· Carbon fiber heel guards
· Carbon fiber swingarm cover
· Adjustable racing folding levers - billet aluminum
· Quick-release Fuel tank cap - billet aluminum
· Brake lever guard - billet aluminum
· Full Ducati Performance exhaust system by Akrapovic
· Mirror hole / license plate covers for track use - billet aluminum
· Racing windshield
· DDA+ with GPS module
· Panigale V4 fitted bike cover

So just to put this to bed once and for all, I happen to have the new Ducati Performance catalog now which has prices for all of the DP accessories that are included with the Speciale, it adds up to $10,923 of DP accessories. This does not include the special paint scheme or the numbered triple clamp or the fact that it's a limited edition model. So essentially for $2,077 more than a comparably-upgraded V4S you're getting the special paint scheme and the numbered triple clamp and limited edition exclusivity.

So at least NOW when you are going to post up as a critic, you have real numbers to cite!

and Labor costs to put all those parts on to V4S. :D

You missed my point entirely. I did not say you could recreate a Speciale. I said you could get close to it in terms of performance and accessories according to your own budget. As for the 13K difference, I think Jarel has said all that needs to be said on this.

Nope. Maybe if the S was a naked bike without something in place of those blingy parts but it already has some cheaper less blingy parts in the same place as the tricolore bike does. Therefore, no additional labor costs involved.

Looks like You didnt understand my comment. At least my point.

Discussion was IF someone to BUY Base or S and Add/Buy those parts to make it into Speciale. It will cost parts + labor (whether you pay someone or your time)

I was wondering how much that new exhaust would be. $6k is insane. But I see how complicated it is so I'm not surprised. And people were crying about $3300 for a 1299 akra system which is still pretty pricy.

Any info on the optional magnesium wheels mentioned in the live steam and other media announcements for the Speciale?

Optional magnesium wheels for the Speciale are £3.5K (US$4.6K) in the UK. Yes you did read that correctly!

I said bye to Ducati for a while and the Panigale V4 came and made me forget about every other bike i have in mind, this Ducati V4 is the bike i have been waiting for

Really beautiful lines
Absolutely epic sound
Killer LED front and rear
Sexy dash
Nuclear power
Splendid handling
And of course it is a red ducati

are the same of the 1199 SL? in wich color? :confuso:
Check with JarelJ. I heard they were similar to the 1199SL wheels. I am sure you could source a set cheaper than through Ducati, if that were the case. £3.5K is a lot given you could buy some nice Oz Cattiva or GASS wheels for much less in your choice of colours or some Marchesinis from either Octo Racing in Italy or Bike Torque Racing in the UK, both of whom stock almost any wheel you can think of and there are always deals to be had.

yes. you can buy the Marchessini M9RS Corse (1199 SL) for 2.960 LBS in omniaracing.

Hey Jarelj do the V4 DP rearsets allow you to switch between standard and GP shift without switching to a reverse quick shifter unit or having to re-orient the shift arm like on the DP units for the 1x99s?

Wow, did this thread go off the tracks. Please stop with the discussions that have nothing to do with why I started this thread! Thanks!

They are not in the catalog yet, so I'm not sure which ones they will be. I know the Speciale was possibly going to come with Magnesium wheels in some of the early plans, but that got scrapped somewhere along the way. So maybe there was a new design from Marchesini for those, or they were going to be the same wheels as the SL. Not sure at this point.

Unclear, I had the same question and am still waiting on the answer, I'll post up when I know. I do know the new rearsets are made by Rizoma.
