How old?

Age? what does that have to do with anything?

Unless you're starvin', and you make your livin' racin', what difference does it make?

As you are dyin', are you going to say "wish I had spent more time....(working, playing video games, riding a moped.........)". Playing with my kids maybe/probably. Feel bad for them.

If you do get to the point where riding a Ducati/other superbike is mundane, congratulations and condolences. You best find something else to make you humble or you are going to be bored.

Find your own limit. Live like you're dying.

62 going on 18. I plan to live forever. So far, so good. paul

PS; having a girlfriend about half your age helps a lot:)

Just turned 54. Started riding minibikes at 10 a bit like Speedy14. Rode a 1976 Z900 Kawasaki to school when I was 18. Had an RM125A, 1980 Model XL500S, two GSX1100 Suzukis. One of which I rode around Australia when I was 20 solo. At 23 years of age sold the lot and had a 28 year break. Fell in love with the 1199 when it came out and got the 5th one into Australia in May 2012.

Aim to find and restore a 1970's 900SS Bevel and also maybe a Z900.

48

Dad tells me I started on a homebuilt minibike at 7 or 8. License at 15. Had street bikes continuously since then.

The 1299 was my first Ducati....

First of many Ducatis owned was a 748 sp back in '96

21 , been riding since i was 5 years old on kids motorbikes. Planning on getting a 1299 this september if I ever hit the trigger. (I have been saving for sometime I don't even own a car :p)

2006 CBR 1000RR first motorcycle at 32. Had a BMWS1000rr for a little bit. Been tracking a 2007 CBR600RR past 5 years and currently at 41 picked up the 1299.

35

started on a monster 600 at age 18 (in germany with 34 HP for 2 years - by law)
sometimes rode my brother's Mito 125
then monster 900
then RSV mille
then Tuono
then 1199 + racing SV + Grom + that Mito as a frame now, with a RZ350 engine to be implanted

funny that i never owned a bike with more than 2 cylinders.

@Buliwyf Damn small world! have you been visiting mid ohio?

I'm only 25 definitely on the younger end of the spectrum. I don't think is so much the price as the bike as it is the insurance!! Holy crap is it crazy

32.

Was heavily into cars in my 20s and then woke up one day and realized I was tired of endlessly rolling around on a concrete floor, rebuilding engines, washing them after it rained, etc. Raced shifter karts for about a decade and grew up riding dirt bikes, so got into street riding.

Yep.. Desmophile You and I have it right!

Here is my motto..

"Life should not be a journey to the grave with the intention of arriving safely in a pretty and well preserved body, but rather to skid in broadside in a huge cloud of smoke, thoroughly used up. totally worn out, and loudly proclaiming "Damn what a ride" Hunter S Thompson
