Not very often is there a new product that I am THIS excited about! Those who "get it" will get it..... :D

BSD has just release a new kit to remove the heavy standard ignition key housing from track bikes and provide simple push-button on/off ignition function! YESSSSS!!!

Limited quantities at first, we'll have the first batch here in a couple weeks, get your order in now to be in it!

Nice!

Where's the ideal place to tuck the E-lock+key?

The wiring harness is long enough to allow it in any front location, most likely you'd want to mount it to the front fairing stay or make a bracket to hold it somewhere up there. The kit comes with 3 M4 screws to mount to a solid bracket, or you can just zip-tie it. Main thing is to put it in a location unlikely to be damaged in a crash. That's one of the big benefits of it, in addition to the weight savings, it's much more crash-worthy. If you've ever seen a bike that has flipped over and had the ignition key break off in the ignition housing you'll know what I mean!

I'll let you know, we will be installing the first kit in the next couple of weeks.

Thanks Jarel,

I would be keen to know the difference with the OEM vs the set where you still use the key.

Thank ou.

cheers

Hi Jarel any update on the kit. I would be interested in the kit that can still keep the key. Cheers Brad

Keen to know the weight saving.

I think if your bike is in a serious enough accident to have it flip over and break an ignition key, the broken key would probably be low on your list of worries...just saying.

You need to see more crashes I guess? I've seen the most gently little low sides off the track and as soon as the bike hits the grass or gravel on the edge it does a nice little gentle flip/roll over to the other side smashing the windscreen/fairing, denting the tank and breaking the ignition key off. ;)
