Anyone tried the IRC blip shifter on a V4?

Any comparison notes with the Cordona?

The IRC seems a bit more sophisticated but stuff like that usually comes down to execution, was wondering if it would be an improvement over my Cordona, which is better than the stock one but not great.

I have been weighing the same 2 units but for a different bike. Currently I have Rapidbike tuner with add on QS and it is unreliable and very bug-ey. I thought I was set on swapping to the Cordona but waiting on a call back from a supplier.
Sorry, I'm no help. Just wanted to say I'm weighing these exact units as well.

The stock QS on my 18 V4S is such a garbage POS (unbelievable that Ducati got it so wrong on a $30k 'S' model especially when the tech is so old and proven at this point) that I have been looking for a replacement. I have the IRC blipper on my Kramer and while it is good, it needs a LOT of fine tuning of kill times, lever preload etc. at various RPM bands. The IRC sensor also failed on me once, but moto-d stepped up with a free replacement.

What is the best plug-n-play QS up AND down replacement for the V4S? Cordona? I am reading translogic is not a strain gauge and develops play after a while? OP, surprised to hear cordona is not a great replacement either.

It’s good just not great the Cordona…WAY better than stock, I think the only way to really get it right though is to do all that fine tuning stuff that the Woolich and IRC seem to be able to do.

The only issue I think with the Cordona is that its not adjustable. I'm sure if you were writing a flash for the ECU you could adjust it but that is beyond most users.

I had my dealer install a Cordona. Morons practically stuck it to the engine so I got two shifts out of it... they were great.

I then installed a HM. It's solved my issues... I notice the cut is better in Sport/Race than in Street... in Street it's long enough to result in a slight lurch.

Was looking at the HM website, can’t find anything for the V4 platform.

What bike do you have and what does your setup look like?

Dont forget the Cordona that I trashed after paying the dealer to install it, bud.

... I also got new tires, an oil change and some other work...also my wife saw the receipt and that led to a little conversation.

I happen to be in Modesto, about 20 minutes from Spear’s shop, so I stopped over abs picked one up.

Talked with Greg about motorcycles for a good hour, he’s an old timer with 40 years into these bikes and is fountain of information abs not stingy with his time.

Very good guy.

I’ll put the HM on this weekend and see how it feels.

From looking at the company it seems like these guys are leading the way in improving the technology.

When they release their new HM GP unit for the V4 platform I’ll be itching to try it out.

You guys are over looking what a gynormous pain in the butt programming an aftermarket adjustable blipper is. It requires a ton of trial and error and understanding of transmission mechanics. I am a racer, not a wrench and have no desire to be.

To illustrate, here's my worksheet for the Kramer with the IRC blipper. And after a year of fiddling with it, its still not perfect.

Honestly I don’t mind that kind of thing.

You should see the tables I have to program on my HKS boost controller for my car….customized boost parameters for launch, each gear, throttle position in 10% increments from 0 to 100% throttle, and at each 500 engine rpm increments from 1500 to 7500 rpm. Probably about 600 input tables, that then have to be matched to the fueling tables for both pump gas, and E85.

Also, that Kramer is a sick bike man, which one did you get?

Don't disagree w you at all there.... kind of annoying that you have to shell out more $ to really enjoy the bike. Glad that this bike did not need an aftermarket exhaust/tune for my purposes.

Tbf, I've got a V4R, and the quickshifter is perfect. And I think it's the same item on all the bikes? I run the Lohmanns on my BMW race bike, that's a slick shifter, and my stock Ducati one is easily a match.
My point being, I think an ECU flash will probably bring the results most seek. And pretty sure companies like SLR TUNING offer quickshifter kill time tuning.
