Lap times at COTA

Maybe try less rebound on the forks?
And/or more preload on the shock?

And...

....some wings :D

As you know, we cannot adjust comp and rebound independently in dynamic mode. aaaargh

I have not found a fixed setting I like. Even yesterday, I tried to go back to the baseline fixed numbers my suspension guy had given me when he revalved the forks/shock but it didn't feel right. I pitted out, set everything back to custom dynamic and bike instantly felt better than custom fixed. I need to find a very good trackside suspension guy and work with him to find my perfect fixed settings. At $875 a day, COTA isn't the right place for a test and tune though, I have to do that elsewhere.

I made a mental note to do both what @RODOLFO and @RickD996 you suggest. I ordered a Puig racing windshield and I am going to transfer the "V4Evo" wings my bike came with to the race bodywork. I will be shocked if the aftermarket wings work, but the windshield should definitely help.

Great time

see you on the 28th

get a high windshield, good wind Protection is a must

what tires were you running?

Thanks man. I have 2:29s in me, I can smell it. Just need to figure out top speed.

Yesterday I was running SC3s front and back. Front was 7 days old and rear was 2 days old.

On the 28th, I will be on brand new SC1s front and back.

Dude I thought you said you could not get in. If I had known you were there we could have hung out. I was in 27 with the next level guys - JC Eddie and Bobby.

How was your day?

Yeah, I was there with @saccardo and Brad Miller of MotionSBK. Had a great day overall - first time out on the new setup, and the bike ran really well. Had an incident when another rider hit me as I was pitting out after turn 19. Damaged my bike but luckily, didn’t put me down. He went down though, and was transported to the hospital with minor injuries (per race control) - hopefully nothing serious.

Next Level? Are they a race team? Were they wearing black t-shirts over their leathers? Those guys are fast - a group of three of them went around me on the outside of 2, and then just left me through the esses. They were moving!

I’ll look forward to hanging out the 28/29th. MotionSBK will have a garage and Shaun and i will be there again with Brad providing pro-level trackside support. Let me know if you want to pit with us. :)

Oh man sorry to hear your bike got hit. Such a bummer when you are riding a brand new bike for the first time. How bad was the damage? So glad you didn't go down or get hurt. I saw the guy who crashed!

Yes black shirt fast guys were us [emoji38] we were given a free pass on passing rules too which was awesome! Next level is basically all the top CMRA guys doing 1:1 coaching for 316. I liked it and it was worth the $300 upcharge.

Awesome! They were moving!

Damage was mild - bent the left clip-on, cracked the carbon upper fairing, and cracked the windscreen and my visor (think the impact sent my face into the windscreen). I was lucky to stay up.

David Gillen does good work. I stopped buying trackday photos some 10 years ago, but this guy takes some good shots! This was last Saturday with the next level guys. I can't tell which corner this was?

@RODOLFO @RickD996

Taller windshield: check
Wings: check
+Rear preload: check

It will be hilarious (and catastrophic) if these wings designed by some guy in a garage increase lift and I endo at 150 mph!

We will find out on the 28th folks!

windshield will be a massive improvement

Hope wings help too

Are you going to put your front headlight cover? Don’t know if that might help at COTA HIGH SPEED
