I was q big hyper fan and wanted the SP last year. Ride a hyper strata and didn't like the feel of the throttle. I wish I could find a friend that had an SP so I could have a do over.

PS, I went to Barber in 2014 and I have a hard time passing this guy on an SP. I finally got past him in the last corner and thought is left him. Come to find out, he was right behind me the entire time. Grant it, I was much slower back then. He was an expert racer and raced a panigale and took his hyper out there for a few laps. Humbling at the time. It made me want the bike even more. It looks like so much fun.

My '08 Hyper was a freaking blast on the street and track. You could take lines that your sportbike buddies could only dream of!

I too love my 1299S. I have a 2nd bike as well (and actually need a third). My 2nd bike is a Harley Road Glide that I take on those "longer" rides when I don't want to take the red lady out "missionary style". Don't beat me up for having a Harley, but I love the way it sits and the radio is awesome for those longer rides. I've never had the desire to try a Hyper, but looking at these post, it seems I may need to at least go try one out for a day. I would like a power cruiser as my third bike so I was considering a Diavel or a Harley Night Rod Special.

A good friend just bought a '98 Road Glide. I am going to convince him that I have to ride it every once in a while to keep the fuel fresh!

I usually have 4 bikes rotating around. My recent is the 12' 1199S. It'll be raced next year in the Super Twins class with CCS. As far as it on the street....eh....you need to be over 6k or it's not street friendly. My 14' Aprilia RSV4R on the other hand is a great street bike. Makes that monotonous street riding fun again. I used to own a 08' Gsxr 1000 excellent street bike as well for planned backroad events, but nothing like the Aprilia.the Aprilia even makes light traffic fun

The blue one is my other one.
Still like my 1199s better though. Better handling, better power (derr), and better suspension. Track or road.
The blue 600 is mostly my commuter bike. Only 2 seconds slower around my local track though.
I'm living a luxurious life indeed [emoji2]

I am very lucky to be able to have multiple bikes. If you asked me when I was 25 if i'd have more than one some day, it'd have been a big nada. By the time my means allowed more than one, it became a rotating garage of whatever tripped my trigger at that moment. Then I smartened up. No more compromise bikes, or 2 of the same style (sport/sport). My Pani is when I want to be heart-attack serious. My Multi is when I want to go long (and still have fun), and my Ape is my fun city bike. Works for me!

Has anyone taken a look at the 959 panigale. Seems like the reviews are pretty good.

It's a little heavy, but so is the Aprilia Rsv4. And everyone here changes wheels, lithium battery, motoholders subframe.... With the engine bump, I may be a very good bike. I'm talking strictly track bike though. I don't ride the street.

I bought a KTM 1190 Adv R as it seemed to tick all the boxes for when not riding the Pani but I can't get around the sheer size of the thing. It's a right hooligan and will wheelie in third and has a go in fourth, and honestly does the fast twisties just about as good as a race bike. I just dont like how big and heavy it is in the garage which is already full of other stuff. I've been test riding my mates 2015 Aprilia Tuono factory v4 and that's an awesome bit of kit. I'd even go so far as to say that if you were only able to own one bike then this is probably the one. The Panigale is better at going fast so my only hesitation is the Tuono is maybe too race orientated as a second bike and I quite like the idea of a ktm 1290 Superduke R as they are a bit more hooligan at low speeds.

just had my Multistrada Granturismo Tuneboy'ed.

- now have up/down quickshifting like my 1299
- converted to GP shift so I don't have to reprogram my brain.
- more power!! These things crank out a lot more power than a big touring bike has any right to.

and it's still
- very light for what it is (mine's 520lbs give or take, with bags)
- comfy
- has the luggage capacity (in liters) of a Goldwing.

How tall are you? Multi seem pretty high.

I just got back from a 7 day trip in Tasmania on my KTM 1290 Super Adventure it was incredible . I'm not even interested in my Panigale any more .
The KTM is a amazing machine .

How much on road versus off road? I'm glad you went more than a week so you tell me how the cargo capacity is.

I have what I consider the best three bikes a serious sport rider could have. The 1199 of course, a 2015 BMW 1600 GT for long trips and two up riding, and a 2016 BMW S1000R. It will do damn near very thing the 1199 will do on the street, but with all day comfort, cruise control, heated grips, dynamic suspension.....all for less than $16,000.

If I wanted a second bike it probably would be the S1000RR, the top end hit is addictive. Did you get the red/black or blue/white? Have a pic?
