Just heard back from Gianlucca at MotoXP re 1299 bodywork. It will not be ready until August 1 or there about. I emailed Eric Wood yesterday. He told me the Armour Bodies for 1299 is about 2 months away. I guess I'll be lucky to race the 1299 at Road Atlanta in September WERA round. I'm going to be at Roebling for the July WERA round. I'll race my Honda CBR 1000RR. Come by Chaotic and say "hello" to me if you're there. You too Leon. Sucks that I can't race the 1299. I will run Senior Superbike, A Superbike and A Supersport with the Honda but I will watch you guys when you run the HW Twins classes. Stupid bodywork is the ONLY hold up at this point.

Will do. Watch me pass CB on the straight away. My 1199 is faster, lol. Relax everyone, joking....

Not at all, 1299 is an awesome street/mountain road/track day bike, but I consider the R1M the superior pure breed track machine. MotoAmerica/AMA Superbike and Superstock race results back up that statement. Again, the hp is a small part of the story with the R1. Not a brand hugger

are they any ducati's in any of those classes?
I've attempted to find out who's running what in that series...and it seems that Yamaha sponsors the whole thing. That's all everyone is running...

Just use the 1199 bodywork .

This.

That is what I am doing. Andrew Swenson is doing my gas tank now and the bodywork will be next. Im just going to have them change the fairing stay and run 1199 bodywork.

Then when 1299 bodywork becomes available, I will get some of it painted as backup.

Progress being made. :)

Several parts from Sportbike Track Gear have arrived. D&D Cycles is installing those parts and going through efforts to make sure the bike is prepared for the worst, including lots of safety wiring.

Cox radiator and oil cooler guards and GB engine cover guards installed, along with Lightech Rearsets.

Are you using Power Commander for fuelling, as opposed to RB or TB?

Yep. PCV and Ignition Module.

My tuner is very familiar with the PCV, as is every tuner in the Southeast. They have all of the software, have lots of contacts at Dynojet, etc. It is just the easier, most common and user friendly setup. Everybody and their brother knows somebody at Dynojet and has tuned hundreds of bikes with that setup.

Me three...

:D

Swenson is working on the bodywork this week. My original goal was to get a weekend on it (even if it is just coaching) before the Grand National Finals. But with the way things are progressing, i might get multiple weekends on before then.

That would be awesome.

Is the PCV compatible with the new 1299 ecu?
I wasn't aware it was?! It's not on the Power Commander website?!

I appreciate the pictures of the safety wiring.
I have done the basics on my bike, caliper bolts, oil drain plug, oil filler. I've had the valve covers vibrate loose, so that looks like a good idea, as well as the other stuff you've photographed.

Thanks.

Know any PCV tuners near Charlotte? Lee's Performance is the only guys I know around here

Dont go to Lee's Performance for your Ducati. They are great guys and know Suzuki's but a Ducati is a whole different animal. Take Chris's advice, drive to Atlanta where the players play.
