New 2022 V4S with WRONG FORK

I’m dubious about that, the guy in charge of the shop at Ducati Newport Beach actually called Italy and spoke with them about it and they said the 2022 front forks run off a different software that was not compatible with my ECU.

I’d love to find out he’s wrong.
Spoke with the dealer again today and the service manager said that the 21 forks shouldn’t work with the 22 ECU as the forks are lacking a pin

But...the 21 forks are plugged into your bike's wiring...are they high? Its a 4-pin connection at the top of the fork.

Also, the bike would show an error if there was a problem with DES.

Don't take it for granted that anyone at a Ducati dealer is an expert.

Personally I’d make them give me a whole new bike, if you mess one thing up that obvious, what else did they mess up?

agree 100%. This is pretty terrible for the brand's rep. I have a deposit on a 22 as well and this is not exactly making me feel good...that new RRRRRRRRR-SP is beginning to look better.

I can't get over how dumb this is.

Do they have any 22 V4S bikes on display? If so, pull the boot on the top of the fork up and count the wires.

ETA: You don't have to do that. Its so ....... stupid...this extra pin BS. The very fact that the 21 forks are on a 22 bike makes it a total ...... statement.

According to the wiring diagram, the fork adjusters are directly connected to the Ohlins EC, which is 11 in the diagram.

67 is compression and 68 is rebound.

I wonder if you could drill that channel out on the older bikes, and fit a spacer, to allow the 22 bike swingarm pivot point. Then fit the black 22 brackets. Voila, much better handling bike...

rick

what handling differences, do you feel on the 22 bikes?

thinking about upgrading from the 19 model

My guess is more front end stability on throttle since the intended effect is more anti-squat… but eager to know as well.

Just been talking to the different service managers at the dealer and getting them up to speed. Also discussed the issue with Ducati NA customer service. Not sure what the timeline is going to be…

It's just a lot easier to ride. Hard to put your finger on it. It's a lot less physical too. And, faster, so a win all around.

However, the earlier bike does feel more alive, it's more of a battle, a different experience.

I've only ridden the settings on track, not sure if you road ride, if you'd notice?

sounds like they went toward BMW’ish….totally subjective whether that’s good or bad I would think.

You're very chilled out about this (good for you) and apparently so is Ducati NA. I'd be pissed and I would have thought Ducati would be falling over themselves to make it right...

Faster is faster

as long as they don’t do them ugly and souless,

I don’t have a problem
