Little experiment, bought a crashed 1199 for the coming race season, decided that the front of the 1199 looks horrible. So the next best thing is turn it into a semi desmosedici. Bought a polyester 1199 race fairing and sedici top. Fiddled around for 3 months and this came out.
The new bike for race season 2014

Came out pretty nice. I can't agree with the comment about the front end of the Panigale looking horrible but this is definitely *different* and I can appreciate a unique approach to modifying a bike (or car).

Need more photos though. Preferably of a straight front end view.

Very nice. I'm a fan of the Pani's front end appearance, but this is an interesting look. Nice work.

It's a unique design. And the work you've done is amazing! Really cool.
I could imagine that aerodynamics are far more better for the rider.

We'll didn't expect that much response. Maybe I've should have explained I'm an old school Ducati fan, more like the 888 period.
I sold me two 888 racers for this one and first thought of making an 888 look but was not possible to integrate by far.
So the sedici was the next best thing. I like the nice round shapes better than the modern square angles. (Kinda like the female part of the human race I guess.)

The frontal sizes is actually only slightly larger than the original 1199, although it seems much larger. But I think you can hide better behind it on the long straight legs of the circuit.

But everybody has his own likes (luckily, otherwise we would all still be driving an east german Trabant car.)

I'll see if I can post some more. Last problem is the integration of the bellypan before the race season starts. The standard bellypan doesn't fit very well so had to narrow that one.

Not my cup of tea. But credit where credit is due and for having the balls to do it, good effort :)

Errrrr, one thing, is the local hospital missing a bed?!? :D

Didn't like that front on the sidici, and REALLY don't like it on the Pani. But...cool bike anyway.

Are those BASE forks with an insert?

Those look like OEM base forks, replacement fork cartridges have different tops. OEM wheels too, so I'd guess it's a base. Best $$ for a race bike, OEM base without ABS is the lightest Pani from the factory outside of an SL, and the money saved buys better racing components than S/R models come with.

I completely agree with you. with the parts bought from the difference in price I reduced weight with about 13 kg. (Wheels, exhaust, subframe, battery) Up to that added ttx 25 inserts and ttx36.

Hans, how did it work out with the transition piece for the oil plug?
