Performance Filter Test

I think the SF PO8 is the Sprint filter that comes with the Superleggera and with the Termignoni Carbon slip-ons. Can someone confirm this definitively?

Thanks for posting.

switched

to sprint this winter... widened the fairing air inlets and put on short trumpets ... no more running out of air at 10K +

Can definitely confirm that's what comes with the new front exit Termis; only have that as info second-hand info on the SL, but if someone wants to lend me theirs for the weekend I'll be glad to have a look... ;)

Interesting read... I wonder what filter exactly they used for the MWR filter as they make different ones. Is it an HE? They don't explain... Or did I miss that in the article?

Interesting read but it is also qualified by the fact that no monitoring of the filtration effectiveness was made. So flow rates may be great, but the engine could be full of .... too, and thus wear in the combustions spaces could be accelerated etc etc.

True; due to the multiple layers the cotton filters have vastly more surface area (which is also why they flow less). Sprint claims superior filtration due to their uniform grid size, which does appear to be evident, but at 88 microns and a single layer, what about the significance of smaller particles? Even Sprint's own materials show cotton filters filtering better than the P08 below 80 microns, so perhaps they feel particles that small aren't significant. FWIW, the waterproof Sprint version has smaller 40 micron grid openings and flows as well as or better than any of the paper ones.
