Seepage from rear valve cover gasket. Thoughts?

Dlit I may follow you- it's one of those things that may be easy but for first timers it's hard to imagine- I got so used to taking my zx10s apart the first time I took the seat off my duc I freaked out haha but I've thought the duc has been pretty easy to work on- just never done this before. Taking all The fuel Injectors out to instal
The MWR was fairly simple and this seems pretty easy compared to that. Someone do a quick write down of steps? Mine is hidden by heat shield
But pretty sure it's leaking as well

Will do the same and see if we can combine them a bit for others. Curious why you went grey when newer panis are running 1207b? Also it shows it's not oil resistant but the old
One is- you would think it would need to be. Also didn't you already need to lift your sub to remove the heat shield? You were half way there already haha-
Dlit did you see it gathering on your clutch cover/oil fill plug and that area?

Is there anything I should note that will make this job go smoother, tips? Can someone post a link to a site that I can order the gasket and sealant for a 2014 1199 base? I am sure I can find it with a simple search but I would like to be sure that I am getting what others have tried and proven to work great. Thanks for all the help guys! Amazon sells the sealant- Whether you go black or grey just goggle the two numbers Gecko listed earlier and it will find them. Looking up gasket part number now

I went with the gray because of the mentioning of being oil resistant. Figured that's kind of important, lol. Had ordered the gaskets (external and internal) from Ducati Omaha, my local dealer. Will be 5-10 days coming from Italy. Sealant should be here by Monday.
I had the subframe loosened but not all the way off; removed the lower bolts and just loosened the top ones and used those to pivot the SF up a bit to get the shield out to reveal the leak. I didn't have a whole lot gathering but there was a trail. Hadn't made it that low yet. I'll probably go home and remove the tank/subframe when I get home later while I wait for the new parts to show up.

let me know how it goes getting the subframe off due to the wires and such.- I plan on ordering everything and doing it when it gets here just in case it takes longer than expected.

Also why did you get the internal? i cant even tell what it really does? Its a circle piece at the top of the valve cover? Why is it there/why would it need to be replace?

I got it because it was cheap and it's for the spark plug area. I've had the subframe off entirely when I first got the bike last April. I was changing out the big exhaust heat shield and chasing a wiring gremlin; ended up replacing the rear loom. Still, super easy to take off and leave all the fairings still on.

thats really preference. Some people say it feels better- some say their legs get hotter but ass and balls feel better haha. I like the looks both ways but will prolly just keep mine on. I've spent so much money on my bike recently or i would jump on carbon heat guards.
You've done all that and you havent removed that damn charcoal canister? get rid of that thing!

Thank! I'll removing the charcoal canister during the service as well. I might try coverless for a bit.
That pic was last April. Removed the canister this past winter! Changed out a bunch of crap on it since I bought it. Most importantly those tacky grips and reservoirs! Best upgrade I've done to date? Putting an 899/1299 seat on there. SOOOO much better.
In the "winter" in San Diego my bike isn't that bad. The summer is a total different story, Especially when I am sitting at stoplights. I feel like I am literally cooking my boys, not to mention if I touch the Subframe by your knee!

Subframe covers. Subframe covers. SUBFRAME COVERS. get them it helps a ton. Thats why i wanted to do the engine covers as well as the subframe covers helped so much. ( along with lined with heat tape).
