Wow glad you are ok and recognized that something was going wrong. It is also great to hear DNA was on it ASAP and shipping you a new bike. Like you mentioned stuff happens a new bike on the way and move forward. I am still excited to get mine.

I noted your post from March 12 ,the stalling and sputtering . I think your next bike is REALLY GONNA BE PROBLEM FREE . Your'e attitude at a time like this is to be Commended.
Good Luck .

The OP is only gonna be able to tell anyone what Ducati tells him if he's lucky. I wouldn't doubt if Ducati drafts a non-disclosure agreement with him because of this. It's not the first model of Duc to spontaneously torch itself to flames off the showroom floor or soon after. Any enthusiast who's kept up with bikes over the last few decades knows Duc has had their reliability/mechanical issues....hence their reputation. I hope Duc follows through and this is an isolated incident like everyone else says. Good luck OP.

aint that THE TRUTH !!!

12k service...but nice try Padden...:D. Speaking of Duc owners who've had electrical bugs...

I guess if you call a 5 year old battery dying an electrical problem. Wasn't your bike missing a Cam journal when they opened it up?

It was missing the standard on board extinguisher Ducati offers with the Starbucks platinum package

Glad you're okay and keeping calm given the situation. I would be furious personally.

I see you've taken the pics down, which you've probably been kindly asked to do. But for info, they're already on UK forums and doing the rounds on Facebook.

Sorry to hear about this, Nitrouz. I know you were one of the most excited to get your new bike on this forum and that feeling was infectious. Glad you're OK and that it's getting addressed without delay.

you know, i had that comment in my first post before i deleted it and just wanted to keep it light.

but i thought: not a good idea to post pics so soon because you never know the context and those pictures are going to live forever on the internet. the picture still lives in the 2nd post so maybe that poster should delete his pic as well since the op removed it. if i were ducati, i wouldn't want that pic posted before i had a chance to get to the bottom of the incident. i believe in transparency and openness but you can be sure other folks (and the news) are going to spin this saying all kinds of nasty stuff and making up all kinds of lies.

there won't be an nda. you can't silence someone when it comes to product safety issues or exchange an nda for a new bike, dna is not like that. and besides, the op is going to talk to a lawyer before he signs anything and a lawyer is not going to let him sign a "free" nda. ;) he might agree not to sue because he almost got killed thru no fault of his own but i wouldn't sign that either. just saying....

The joys of social media!

At the end of the day it could just be the battery and the fault of a supplier, not Ducati, but people will be all over this, especially other brands.

No I wasn't asked to, surprisingly. But as good as ducati has been to me, I think it's for the best before people take it out of proportion. I'm all for spreading accurate information, just not at the expense of spreading false rumours of a brand that takes good care of me.

Just for the record, ducati north America contacted me once, to ensure I was ok and to inform me a replacement bike is on the way. That's it. No NDA, no word about taking posts down, etc. They were class acts and should be treated as so. I have deleted the pictures on my own accord to not throw fuel at the fire. Thanks for all your understanding and cooperation. I truly appreciate it.
