Correction, the engines are not the same. The SL has Ti exhaust and intakes valves. The 2015 R does not.

According to Ducati's own web site the 2015 R's valves are Ti too - I quote: " A precision-balanced lightweight crankshaft, two-ring Superbike pistons, titanium valves and connecting rods, and extreme camshaft profiles result in a 205 hp output with immediate, aggressive power delivery."

Yes, but it's just the intake valves. The exhaust cables are steel like all the other 1199 bikes.

All the 1199's (and 1299's?) have Ti intake valves. The quote re the Ti valves has been taken directly off Ducati's own web site. Your authority for your rebuttal?

Believe what you want. If I'm not mistaken, they cracked up oem a 2015 engine and the only to valves are intakes.

The titanium would be like $2,000 to retrofit I read on some other article. Seems one should buy a used 2015 Panigale R and pay $2,000 for to valves and bam you have 99.9% the same bike with enough scratch left for a second R.

That Supereggera is one beautiful bike though! Unfortunately I won't ever have the necessary funds to obtain one. Poo

99.9% of riders will never feel nor put to any use the ti valves...

A little more than that. You have to get the vavles seats bored out and replaced with copper or berrilium. That's cost a few bucks as well. The new to exhaust valves won't last long with steels seats on the exhaust side. I was going to do this to my bike.
