Thanks for sharing your build. I am looking forward to see how high spec your going to make the SL 
I would recommend you keep ALL your original parts though as some folks enjoy the ability to return the bike to stock, not just for parting out more so for the challenge. It's an SL, keep the original parts in my opinion.

well this guy can ride....perhaps best to be safe and ride a 250 before a tricked out 1199 that u continually crash bc of lack of skillz...and i'm not talking money but real world safety....

^ yep - totally agree.
I would not be doing this if I did not have the experience - safety of others paramount, safety to my self and I certainly would not build such a bike without the skills to then enjoy it - a complete waste of time and money. +20 years of riding, raced as a privateer at club level in UK on 996.
I personally believe it will be easier to ride than my R - I will find out soon.

thx for being honest....the other kustom builder here had no legit right to jump on a bike like he did and paid dearly for it multiple times (luckily he didnt take anyone out with him).... (building in his honor is great, just dont ride in it....)

No problem - that is a sad story to read.
I would also add, my builder (Moto Rapido in UK) would not build it for me if they thought I could not ride it.
A few safety factors will be on the bike too - various maps with incremental use of power, anti-wheelie and even when in full power mode, %'s of power will be available - so for example in 1st gear 70% power and so on. Once I have got used to the bike etc, maps etc will be reviewed/updated accordingly. This is a bit of make shift package at the mo - marrying the SL system with what MR can do from their experience with racing; Corse are developing an evo electronics system on a SL which will be used in WSBK next year and I will fit this when it becomes available. The final safety factor is my wrist - sorry two factors - ego and wrist. I don't have an ego so won't get caught up in track day heroics and my wrist can turn both ways!
One thing I have learnt in life is to be patient and to enjoy the journey - so I will be in no rush to be the fastest (there will always be someone faster); my priorities are ride safe, ride smooth and stay calm. I will just learn, progress, learn and so on.
Looking forward to updates. Love it when people take machines out and use them for what they are meant for.

I think great advice from Cali here. I would keep all the original bits then you can return it to a collectors piece.

In that case then most of the people here have no right to have a 1199 and should stick to something smaller like a 600cc as they are riding nowhere near its potential and only riding it on the street.

in the general context (or out of context) of my statement, i'll rephrase it: he had no right getting on his custom built 1199 and attempting to push it at a fast clip on a race track (like he did) with skill-set that quickly betrayed him and could have injured other riders, not limited to himself...so yes in that specific context, he had no right....
