Tuneboy Discussion

that's exactly what the trims that they give you are....the end result of a bike he tuned in the workshop.

All good information on here and very helpful. I just wanted to point out that each individual bike is different due to small differences in the way the actual injectors perform. So as Ruley says a trim file is one that Wayne has done on a bike and posted on his site.

Just remember that put the two different bikes on the same dyno and you will probably get different results.

I am paraphrasing what Wayne has told me. He has had a few 1199 on his dyno and no two are the same and result in a range of HP numbers. It is why the optimal solution is reached by a custom tune of a particular bike.

Thank you very much.

So in essence, only the butt dyno is the way I can tell if it successfully loaded the trim?

The Flash Mitsubishi program will tell you if it successfully uploaded, and during the upload the tachometer will flash.

Curious to know what software version people are getting for the 1199 when they buy tuneboy at the moment?

I've got to do my bike again with the replaced ECU and wondered if version 4 is still the latest for the 1199 (I know V5 for the 1299)

I used the V5 program the last time I flashed my 1199. It applies an update to the WB01 as well. The only thing I've really noticed is that before when switching maps the bike would continually cycle through all maps. Now you have to depress the clutch lever once to go to the next map.

The flash and trim programs are just executables now. They don't install.

does anyone know about the box to check about whether to keep the injectors on or off with the throttle closed? If it's checked, does that mean the injectors stay on with the throttle at 0%?

To further reduce engine braking, I'd like to have my injectors active at 0% throttle. I can then add little dashes of fueling to taste. It's a trick I picked up when I used to tune Nissan Skylines.

Anyone know if you can use the wideband O2 sensors (not stock) with the stock ECU file?

Going in for a service soon and is a pain to fit the stock sensors back on...

Yes, just change the wideband output wire from the controller to the narrowband one and plug in. The connectors are cheap.. I can get them for about 1 usd a piece...
