If someone is super annoying to you and you follow them around all target fixated... what's wrong with you? Everyone is on their own trip in this life.

My dealer told me it was tuned from the factory for 95 octane, but 105 was better without any adjustments.
93 is the low octane in Italy. €1.51 a liter that's... about $5.80 a gallon. 95 & 105 you can find at premium pumps.
I see ethanol additive is fairly common here as well, that used to ruin the plastic tanks. I wonder if that's an issue now? Anyone know?

I was told to put ethanol killer in my tank everytime by my dealer, I know in jet skis, the ethanol eats up everything in the fuel system.

Octane is rated by a few different methods. Without specifying which it’s just a number.

Ethanol attracts moisture and can damage some polymers or make them swell. Fuel pump or injectors might not like it. But it is less bad for the environment if you are concerned with emissions. I am not...
 
Ethanol makes the plastic tanks of the Multistradas expand. There are aftermarket tanks that don't react to it. As I understand it's not a problem for metal tanks. If you are running your bike regular it is also not as bad, as far as attracting water is concerned.

"Octane ratings are based on the pressure at which a fuel will resist spontaneously combusting in a testing engine. The octane number is actually the simple average of two different octane rating methods—motor octane rating (MOR) and research octane rating (RON)—that differ primarily in the specifics of the operating conditions. The higher an octane number, the more stable the fuel."

The more stable the fuel, (Higher Octane) the higher compression engine (higher performance) can take advantage of its potential as it can compress to a greater degree without the fuel spontaneously igniting causing damage and lower performance.

Methanol ( alcohal produced from organic matter such as sugar cane stocks) is less stable and very corrosive however can produce higher outputs of energy.
Eg. M85 is Methanol + Petrol:
"2.3 litre 4-cylinder engine when run on M85 rather than pure petrol, power output increased from 120 hp to 130 hp, although range was reduced from 460 km to 325 km. These figures are due to the higher octane level but lower energy density of methanol."

There’s more to the different race fuels than just octane tho

Specific gravity is very important when choosing fuel for a short stroke high rpm engine

VP and others used to list a complete breakdown in the description of each fuel but it confused avg joe so now you have to request that information and the descriptions just say stuff like makes good power.

Choosing a fuel without considering all the numbers is like purchasing a camshaft without looking at the cam card

Im interested in running 100LL avgas in mine. I have an abundance of it. Actually about 1,000 gallons.
 
I have no experience w low lead and narrow band sensors

Are yours still connected?
Yes my factory narrow band sensor is still connected. Avgas has tetraethyl led which lubricates valves and increases combustion pressure and well as reduces the chance of knock. I plan on adding a slip on exhaust to my v4s pani.

No, kerosene is more closely related to Jet A. or Jet fuel. Stoich is probably around 14.7, but ive told thats for cruise which isn't important since we tune for power and consistency in wide open throttle. 100LL has 1/3 the lead as VP C16.
 
The o-rings for the injectors might have a bit of "wear" when running race fuel. A few years ago with my 1199S I damaged the o-ring on one when screwing around while replacing the air filter. Guy at the Viton o-ring distributor told me the one I damaged was crap rubber. Got the Viton replacements and kinda wondered what would transpire with 95+ octane. Ducati O-ring 7.66 x 1.78; Viton i.a. fuel connector & clutch 88641181A

I guess Viton comes in different colors? I didn't know.

To the point about MTBE, looks like a lot of their oxygenated fuels have it: MR Pro6-HT Reg | VP Racing Fuels
 
The green ones are really soft and I wouldn’t doubt they would expand

I’m more concerned with the parts inside the injectors. The stuff I can’t get to. Imagine how much time one could waste trying to tune if injector flow was slowly but constantly decreasing
