All riders , though I'm seriously considering to stop waving to any Harley riders, they rarely wave back!

It's funny you say this. As a former Harley owner I completely agree with this. When I bought my Harley (which also happened to be my first bike) they told me only wave to Harleys. I have since sold my Harley and own two Ducs. I only wave to sport-type bikes now unless another type bike waves to me and I of course return the favor. I guess I do it this way because I know if I was told not to wave to anyone but Harleys many Harley riders were told the same.

I like to give the nod to everybody, but around here we get a lot of club riders out for a day ride through the rainforest twisties without the hassles of the boys in blue and that can sometimes make you feel like a bobble head when 10 or more pass you.

I wave to all motorcyclists. I don't always get it in return from people on Harley's. Gotten a many middle finger from them. Just shows the type of person your dealing with....

I wave to all riders and find that the Harley guys alway wave to me. I make a point to try and not to miss a wave to them because I don't want to be perceived as the snobby sport bike guy. Truthfully I find all bikes cool. I have no desire for a Harley right now but who knows, I may try one someday just to say I've had one.
Now scooters....If I see them look at me I will give them a nod. If they wave first I will wave back but I don't initiate the wave to a scooter lol.

Long time Harley /chopper rider and always waved at everyone on two wheels. Much respect for my fellow winter riders with an obvious higher wave which was always reciprocated.

Scooter dudes are like the Prius people...pretty uptight fellows who are really not down with being socially aware as they do their part to minimize their carbon foot print!! They ride eyes/ head straight with white knuckles gripping their speedy little beasts holding on for dear life with their blazer jacket tails flapping wildly as they scream through the 5mph traffic!!

I've always thought when you see scooter guy riding in 20 degree weather, ankles exposed to the wind, seems like good chance they had their license revoked

A good rule of thumb for me is if you won't see it on an Interstate, no wave (scooters etc >.>). I don't like the trikes with the two front wheels, but some of those people would otherwise not be riding. I imagine those are far more fun than Harley or Honda trikes.

My wife rides a scooter, I don't see why all the hate. Once in awhile I take the scooter out for a spin and it's funny how I get treated by some guys on Jap bikes and the snotty attitude they give when I wave at them. I wave at everyone on two wheels, sometimes nod, sometimes two finger salute, one finger salute to Harley guys and ..... cage drivers who don't pay attention.

I wave all. I think really depends on where you ride. I get wave back 99% of time when I am on Ducati or Harley.

+1 except I am already on a Harley

I don't initiate a wave with a scooter, mainly cuz they don't know about the wave, lowering your left arm actually. But if they were to wave to me (never have) I would not act all stuck up and not not wave back! :)

Lets not be too harsh on Harley riders... They're probably just to scared to let go of the handlebars...

Either that, are they're holding onto to some part that's about to fall off their Hardley Drivable.

In SoCal it seemed everyone waved, it was this down low, one-finger thing. So, I used to wave to everyone. Then I moved here and got stone-walled so many times from other cruisers that I just stopped doing it. I'll return a wave if I get one. But, some people take it a bit too far, like on a divided freeway and throw jazz hands up at 70 mph. I draw the line there.
