I wish the rest of the world could catch on to the Euro wave which is just a drop of the foot off the peg, cos when I'm scratchin mid-corner knee on deck I'm just not cool enough to take a hand of the bars as well but waggle of the outside foot I think I could manage !

Lets be clear here... CanAms is not a motorcycle... in fact I have no idea how to categorise them... But hell no.. I ain't waving to one of them...

Never say never. The wife brought one home last night.

I tend to wave, Two fingers to most everyone :) or a quick nod of my head, if my hands are full.

When they don't wave back? I tend to nod and wink at them like, Ok gotcha your on the down-low wink wink. :)

I have noticed that if you look into there eyes as they pass you, you can almost read there minds. It says something like "I wish I could wave back but I'm trying to be a tuff guy here, besides what will my tuff-guy friends think? Gasp! Was that a freek'n 1199? Gasping! as I ride by with a grin on my face.

Or the scooter guys saying "WAVE!? OMG!? WAVE!? I can hardly ride this thing! WAVE!? Gasp! Was that a freek'n 1199? Gasping! as I ride by with a grin on my face.

I'm sure others here have read other, none return waver minds, what have you heard them thinking?

Where is *Same style bike and gear as me*? I don't wave to Hardley (however, i will return one) riders and squids.

Don't be too upset I don't know which one she bought buuuuut they are more fun than most people give them. Do they lean like a bike no, it's more like driving a high speed quad or road legal snow mobile... If you ever ride it don't ride it like a bike cuz it sure as .... isn't.
Then again I've never driven the bigger gold wing looking one so who knows?

I wave to all street bikes and as for everything else I'll wave back or nod if they wave first.

To those who waive to everyone on bikes: does "everyone" include police on motorbikes? Because they never waive back! I must be doing something wrong. :p

I have to admit that curiosity got the better of me and I took it for a quick spin. It is fun in a certain OMG-this-just-feels-so-wrongly-weird kind of way.
The one benefit in all this is that I will no longer have to plan on how to carry/pack for weekends. Will be like having my own chase vehicle. :) Lots of room to store stuff on it leaving me free of tank bags, backpacks, tailpacks, etc.

I used to waive to most everyone on bikes, but noticed a majority didn't waive back, BEFORE ducati 1199, now i either don't waive or better give them the thumbs down HAHAHAHAHAA LONG LIVE DUCATI 1199 PANIGALE!!!!!! :)

Thread moved to Motorcycle Talk.

Please post up motorcycle-related threads, not specific to the 1199, in the Motorcycle Talk section.

Thanks!

I tend to waive at everyone or a nod if a waive is not possible at the time due to road. But I have also noticed that Harley and some cruiser owners act like their chet don't stink and tend to just drive and ignore sport bikes like were just a car so I tend to not waive to them only if they do it first....
