What are the chances? Trackday Incident

To my eyes even more unbelievable that the track marshalls are driving into wrong direction when the track is not empty. Never ever seen that, even in Italy.

never never stop on the track when there's an accident. you can become a target. let the marshalls do their job

Yeah some weird stuff there... The guy was casually walking back?

Scrolling through the vid in slow motion you can see the belly pan fly off the yellow bike on the left and clearly must have hit the guy that ended up crashing. Scary crash!

I was at this trackday. But in the intermediate group. This was the fast group. There was a rather long break in the proceedings to clear this up. By all account the belly pan was held on with tape! A mate of mine hit 178mph on an R1 before braking. I managed 152 on my 675. The guy was definitely over 140 when he got knocked out. He is ok though. Bumps and bruises! It's Typical at a trackday no matter how many times they brief you not to stop or over take on the sighting laps, c0ckwombles will be c0ckwombles and ignore all and do what the want.

So the belly pan hit the guy? If the belly pan was held on with tape this guys should be punished.. this could have killed the other guy..

Holy cow. The tosser who lost the belly pan needs to be banned from the track. The fact the other rider escaped major injury was unbelievable and doesn't change the facts of the incident.

That's just nuts. I've seen a kneepuck fly up in the air on the straight and changed lines to avoid it. Just as deadly. But a taped on bellypan shouldn't even have made it on the track. This makes the providers liable as well.

Agreed, WTF happened to allow this to get through tech? Fire those tech inspectors.

We'll race wise you bring your bike to tech with the bellypan off so the bellypan and the drainplug can be inspected, so I'd place more blame on the rider. Trackdays I've never been required to remove my bellypan so I'd place the blame equally on rider and tech if these were their procedures.

Last trackday at Chuckwalla someone's GoPro fell off and hit my buddy right in the knuckle guard of his right glove and took a huge gouge out of it. Had it hit any other area it would have broken his braking hand and would have been an ugly situation. Scary .....

WMRRA requires Racers to wire their GoPro to the bike. Many trackdays don't.

Holy crap that brings new meaning to the term laid out.

Very happy to read he is okay. It certainly could have been much worse.
