Who owns this 1199 Tri?

Lol, what I haven't figured out yet is what's confusing about this... but let me explain. Someone listed their bike on eBay, which I bid on and ended up winning. Now, I asked if anyone knew the owner of the bike I bid on.

If it ends up being you at that price, everyone here will hate you, just be prepared ;)

have you had any interaction with seller to date? did you ask questions during auction? if so, were they answered?

I just hope it works out. This would be a bike of my dreams.

Congrats Evol that's a pretty sweet deal. The CF rotors are and BST wheel are going to be a huge performance gain. I was waiting for Brake tech but they can't seem to find a Contract manufacturer to make them cheap enough for them.

To me as a Tri owner, seeing one go for that cheap is a little disheartening...
I mean...I get the whole depreciation hit thing but that seems excessive.

Might not "need" the money, and just wanted to move it fast. I got a great price on a bike that a wealthy guy sold. He got 1-2 new bikes every year, and only hung on to them 12- years depending on how much he liked them. The dealership said one bike was delivered inside the house as a living room object d' art :)

Thats the market for a lightly used Tri right now - right around 20K plus/minus a couple K. . . The upgrades/etc will alter the price a bit, but you aren't going to get anywhere near say half value on upgrades unless you're willing to part them out. . . That bike's value is there because of questionable seller and auction. So EvoL if he gets the bike, gets the benefit of 'taking a chance' and is rewarded by some expensive wheels/rotors. . .. because if those wheels/rotors weren't on the bike, a lightly used tri would get around 20K or so if selling privately.

So EvoL, what's the latest? You won the listing but do you own the bike? Has the 'seller' reached out? Whazzup?

He sent me two, they are on my phone and i am too lazy to upload them ..... :D. He will complete his 1300 miles journey back to FL soon enough, should be back by September :D.

The whole sale reminds me of when Michael Scott from the American version of The Office sold his condo on eBay.

"I sold it on eBay. The buyer was very motivated, as was I. It went for eighty percent of what I paid. Sold in record time."

I wouldn't worry about Tri prices.

EvoL, congrats man!

For the ......... still arguing this please realize PayPal=eBay. Talk to ebay customer service. Except PayPal wasn't a payment option for this ad.

0% positive feedback? Sounds legit ;) .

I must say I've always been amazed by people like you. Someone obviously never needed to use eBay before and when they finally had to sell their Tri they chose eBay. So that makes them a fraud? So every year when millions of people open an account and post their first listing they're a fraud?

Let me guess here..... When someone "new" with no posts (well, one) comes to the classified section so sell parts does that make them suspicious? Are they automatically here to make a fraudulent misrepresentation and rip us off? Probably not. They obviously never needed not cared to use a forum but used the resource to sell their bike/parts. Jesus. Go complain about the deceptive radio ads next or something else. My lord! New people discover ebay, PayPal and classified forums each day in this world strictly to buy and sell things. Just because the eBay seller hasn't previously bought video games or sold his .... stash doesn't make him a scammer.

You are ......... The user had 5 previous transactions with 0% feedback in the last 12 months, the seller wasn't new. You aren't very good at reading, are you?

So pay with cash or check in person!?!? You'll obviously see a real bike, and have the title...? Nothing suspicious to me!

Uhm, you need to ....... learn to read. You just pissed all over the fact that this ad was covered by PayPal's buyer's protection because they're the same company. Except PayPal wasn't a payment option, which is required to be covered. Please keep digging your hole, you're making this way too easy.
