Wow! You guys are sensitive. All I am after is some honest feedback from current owners. But most of what I seem to be getting are comments about the BMW. I am not asking Ducati owners what they think about the HP4. I am asking about the 1199.

I do like the 1199. I do want one. Just trying to get some real world experiences before dropping lots of money on another toy.

If some of you need to put down the BMW to make yourself feel better, then that's your issue not mine.

Where am I supposed to get owner feedback from?

And it's not that this is the first bike with a single side swing arm, but first one without a frame.

I do appreciate some of you that have provided some good feedback.

I have a Ducati 1199 Panigale S Tricolore and there is not a day that goes by when I am in country that I do not glory in riding her. As she has the full Pro Stock race up map, Power Commander V with auto tune, other mods and weighs at least 12 kg's lighter than standard she is a technical ride, especially at low speed, but I like my bikes that way. Lets face it the Dragon Lady is a veritable monster and I love it! :D

lets be honest the panigale has too many problems compare with other ducati I have 1600 mile on my base and so far:
3 dash
1 stress crack headlight
1 cluch slave
1 set of front fork
2 oil leak
2 turn signal switch
also to try to fix the the crappy fuel map I have to put a full system and still the map is crap

and please dont tell me the this is a race bike because is not this is a dot legal bike FOR THE ROAD and also yes this is not my first ducati I have right now
2011 MTS 1200s with 23000 mile with CERO problems
2008 848 with 17000 mile with no problems
2004 MTS 1000ds with 38000 no problems
so please not because you want to drink the ducati kool aid you are going to start a fight with somebody who feel that the panigale has some major mechanical fault.
my bike is a 2012 and I have one more year of warranty I dont think I want to owner this pile of .... outside the warraty.
you want to talk about fast bike get a MV F4r I have both and i can tell you the panigale is not that fast compare with the MV

let the fight begin

just keep drinking the Ducati Kool aid
and yes english is no my first just to put it out there
the only good part is the is a good looking bike and you can brag about how cool the bike is but everybody knows the is not enjoyable to ride is ....... hot even with the full system it suck a low rpm (oh is a race bike ) lol and it sound like .... compare with my 848 with full system

The only one drinking the "kool aid" must be you. Owning 4 of them

Seems for every one bike with problems there and plenty more without.

yes I love ducati and part of loving the brand is recognizing when ducati drop the ball rushing a bike just to look good in front of audi (that the only reason they rushed it to get Audi's big ass pocket)

They are a race bike with lights, brutal, violent and stupid fast, with a hair trigger that second gear wheelie you got, they do it in 4th too, at lethal speed. They are NOT for everybody, not a nice enjoyable street bike you can day dream on. I love mine, this bike hasn't become boring, I haven't wished it had more power, or more ground clearance or more brakes. I think they are just too intense for most motorcyclists. Steve

+1 on that, it is a violent beast that demands respect and a cool hand. Many come close to the fire but cannot take it for long!

Sorry about your problems. I also have a 2012 base and with 3k miles there have been no problems. Love mine and sold my 1198 that also never game me any issues. Had 24k miles on my 998 that was also a great bike. Everyone builds a bad one. Had a Honda 929 back in 2000 that was a POS right off the showroom floor.

This thread is stupid. Why not start one for each brand? Then start one for each car brand while we're at it. There is no one answer, there are dozens.

BTW, on cyce trader, 34 1199s, and 45 used 1000RRs.

Lol, you guys make me laugh! Oops, here I go again...LMAO!

I need to make a trip to Australia! So many funny peeps there.

I am done with this thread. I think I got all I need from it.

The Brad and Brad show. Ones a dick and ones a ....! Match made in Ducati heaven! :D

You still here? Thought you were done :D You will fit in just fine, we have many here that were done with several threads, including the whole forum. But they always come back.....

well...........to be completely fair, the s1000rr first came out in 10 so lots more on the road.

Also, having been a prior owner of a bmw touring bike (and issues with after sales warranty support) Just not that keen to own another. I think they really finished any desire to own one with the complete mishandling of the several hundred bikes recalled for the con rod torque (under or over can't remember which). Whereas aprilia, replaced the entire engine in the 200 factories with a problem, BMW took the cheap way out and paid for a tear down on the engine of a new bike.

I've got to say the few minor issues I've had with any of my ducs were always handled well, hell they even good faith replaced the flaking rockers in my 748 tho bike was long out of warranty.

I am done, as I have my answers. And it can be closed. But since nobody wants to close it, I guess we can continue to hash the same things over and over. ;)

It winter now, nothing else to do.

No bike is perfect, and you bought a first year run where certain negative traits have showed themsleves. They have corrected quite a few of these.

I and many others have had none of these problems. The turn signal was a recognized issue that would have been hard to find in initial testing. So give us a break. Most people do come to forums to whine, whilst others come to enjoy their bikes. Become one of the second group, and stop whining.

BTW, people don't post "no oil leaks", "turn signal works" - so you can imagine 99% of the OPs, do not have these issues.
