Woolich Racing Tune and lag

Ducati Forum

Help Support Ducati Forum:

A better question would be, who here has done anything with the Woolich platform other that the basic auto tune which requires virtually zero knowledge of how to tune an internal combustion engine, address only the A/F mapping, does not touch ignition mapping nor does it make any modifications to the throttle valve tables.

Buying a Woolich setup and using the auto tune to modify the A/F mapping is a great start as these bikes definitely need that however there is a lot more to complete tuning than that.
Interested to hear from anyone who is past the “novice” stage and what strategies were employed.

So since Don has not finished his bike nor installed his Woolich stuff he is far away from getting to the "Novice" stage with the package. Vesparacer has had other people do all the keyboard work so that leaves just a few people that are at the "Novice" stage and can't go any farther unless the bike goes on a dyno.

Actually no I spent 6 months learning the package you had someone else punch the keys for you so different boat. Its a easy package once you learn it folks just make sure if you want the ignition maps to be spot on get the A/F set first then get the bike on a dyno add 0.5 degrees of advance at a time, note the power in the same area you are altering the timing. Once you see no more meaningful gains, back the timing off 2 degrees, and that should be spot on.

Yep that would include you as well so we’re all in the same boat

LOL Mick, yea nice cut and paste from the Woolich site on ignition mapping you jerk off. This is the same clown who I sent a string of txt msgs to yesterday explicitly asking if the Auto tune modifies the ignition and ETV map and he replied yes. Then I had Don, Gunmoto and Al email Woolich. Here’s their answer

Hi Don,

Autotune takes readings of the engine data from the ECU, and AFR data from the ZT3 wideband sensor, and as that only measures the AIR/FUEL Ratio, the recommended changes are only applied to the Fuel Maps.

Autotune does not alter the ETV or Ignition Maps.

So it looks like you don’t have any idea what your own software does or how to use it.

Here’s the verbiage he just stole from the Woolich site to make it look like he knew something

A i highly doubt yer gonna see 1/2 a degree on the dyno or anywhere else?

B more timing usually needs more fuel for this little thing called cooling so yer “set the a/f right first” does not make sense. I would rather have it a lil fat if I am gonna start bumping the timing

C ya already stated that you use auto tune to suggest changes for timing and ETV. It does neither, which again, shows

D you haven’t shared any tables, just a old 3d graph, because yer timing and ETV is prolly just like it was from oem or upmap. Whichever you started with

E maybe we should all try telling the truth and helping each other instead of the constant “I’m the best, my way is the best way” egomaniac ........????

I have no horse in this race but I highly agree with Don on item "E". We should work to help and not knock down each other!

I totally understand man why no one likes you nor have any friends cause your a back stabbing .... off that just wants to use everyone stick a fork in it man. You might want to start submitting some support tickets on this topic since your way off.

So I have to call total ........ on that one with the autotune making small changes to the ignition maps after auto correcting the logged map. I physically went into the last 4 tuned maps and saw the numbers were all slightly different which is not a huge big deal. If you want it spot on get the bike on the dyno.

Since our resident master tech has it all covered he can guide everyone in the right direction and help everyone out.

Submitting support tickets? LOL WTF do you think we we’re doing while you were sleeping and guess what, you were wrong. No back stabbing dude. I could care less what you tell people on the board but when I ask you personally for the truth about something I’m working on and you give me the same jerk off answer and tell me that I don’t know what I’m talking about and I have to verify with others that it’s you who don’t know what their talking about, thats ...... up. 28 txt msgs from you and countless posts on the forum saying your quitting the board. Probably a good time.

I agree Bo but when you help someone over the years with supplying tons of custom parts to cnc machined billet parts that are not available anywhere and to get backstabbed not worth it anymore man he is a looser.

Billet man lives!!!

You mean this one:

Micks map lol

Welcome back BilletMan!!!
No Mick sent me that one but could not get it to work too well his bike had some other modification I believe like different velocity stacks. I played with mixture on both cylinders, bike was really bad down low also I got it running much smoother and better in the midrange flat spot, also picked up 8 hp peak.

What a load of ..... You supplied me with an oil chiller block off and some oil filter caps that someone else made. Other than that you brokered a few off the shelf suspension pieces from Desmo which you marked up and don’t forget the 900 bucks worth of carbon parts that don’t fit.
We must have different scales cause that’s slightly less than “tons” as far as help, I’m not the one who called every day because I couldn’t get my bike to start for 2 weeks because I didn’t know how to hook up a map sensor. And that’s the real story folks.

Anyhow back to tuning. Don seems to know quite a bit about engine tuning at least what it does and how it works and Billetman has a dyno?

Dirty laundry anyone?

Now's the time to say what a shitshow and as usual, Mick is somehow involved in the mix. Go figure.

Why waste a bunch of time getting a/f on target when the thing is barely at half throttle 6k rpm???

My thought is that the first thing that needs to be done (tuning wise) is to get the throttle plates open asap. Don’t know how low of rpm the 1198 can take wot but Dave shared that the 1285 doesn’t need any ramp at all : )

Endodoc is a stand up guy , I met him on this forum a few years back , I have never met in person however speak to him on a regular basis , his knowledge with Ducati and his craftsmanship is at a different level , I wouldn't be surprised if his Ducati actually flys.

Jump on your beautiful bikes and go for a ride today . Happy Friday !

I uploaded a tuneboy map in mapshare from my 1299S . It's a really good map and my bike makes great power .

Map has 3 Trims loaded , and three different power levels. It's a full AKRA tune .

With Key on - twist throttle - hit up bottom to toggle trims - RPM will change -

With Key on - hit clutch lever to toggle map. RPM will change.

It might be a really good starting point for tuning if anyone is interested.

Endoduc (vesparacer) same guy highly doubted a standup guy more so just someone that wants everyone to think he is doing something. The wife is actually the one with the brains so ask him to show you the video with the bike running with the Tamburini harness and the ABS module unplugged.

At the end of the day we're all just a bunch of Ducati fanatics, We all share one common goal meaning we own some sort of Italian engineering.

There is already so much ........ pandemic in the world and stress , we are all forum member's and should form a brotherhood fuelled with respect , saying mean words about each-other serves no purpose.

So let's get back to figuring out this Woolwich situation and help each other.
