Like I said from the start the ignition map does change after 3k rpm when you do a autotune

Question for anyone so if you have a stock map and you do an Akra up-map does the up-map make mods to the ignition tables or the ETV tables or is it just fuel?

I emailed woolich and asked because I wanted to know myself and help answer some questions.

I asked woolich : Does the auto tune modify the ignition map automatically or just the A/F?

See their response
I copied from my email - I blocked my email and ticket number . Feel free to email woolich yourself with the same question

Yes from 3k rpm all the way up the numbers do slightly change in all three tuning parameters.

Yep, my apologies man. Looks like you are correct. Calling Woolich Monday. Obviously what they told us is wrong. Nice work So it appears tat the Auto-Tune does indeed change all three main tuning parameters. Cool

Yeah unfortunately they are wrong. If you look at the factory map off your ECU that's never been touched then go log data and apply a autotuned the numbers change from 3k rpm up to max.

Interesting. My experience has often been that pulling timing doesn’t hurt torque or hp at all at high rpm (in high rpm motor) and some even made more hp when doing so. Look at the stock map. It’s definitely safer and easier on the bearings. What trips me out is if Woolich really is making timing suggestions what is it basing those suggestions off of? How quick the motor accelerates? How does it know if you are on level ground or not? IAP? It’s a logger, not a dyno

Yes stock map and upmap same thing the numbers change. I did a 13R flash for a local racer recently so here is the ETV numbers stock vs upmap.

They are human and work on a bunch of different stuff:

We could make a new thread with where this was headed…

Oem strain gauge?

I let it go

My point is that tuners are always making mistakes! That’s how it is done right? Trial and error. Everyone makes mistakes oh well. It’s how we learn : )

I’m lost too but that wouldn’t be the first time. Pretty lame that Woolich is making changes to critical engine parameters and does even acknowledge it. Calling them Monday and showing them this info.

That’s a fair question. If the Woolich software auto tunes the ignition, why does my ignition map still match my original Bren file after multiple auto tunes.

Old ETV map from a 13R that is still slightly progressive to 7600

Something like this might actually work better?

Maybe not those exact numbers but it’s something you could compare to 100% all the way down the last column?
