2023 V4R // 2023 SEASON

Might as well use this time to break up this banter with a season recap for the 2023 V4R. 1175 miles ripped, 7 of those miles were done by the shop before I picked it up, all other miles done at NJMP TB, NYST + Pitt Race. I got the setup to a pretty good place and basically what I did was half the season on stock geometry + suspension to get a baseline. Then mid July swapped suspension hen started messing with geometry. First off all I lowered the front incrementally down 8mm, then came back up to 6mm lower then stock - all of this to help turn in. This was feeling much better but was causing bike to be quite unsettled when getting on the gas hard coming onto the straights. Next I began lowering he rear first 1mm on shock then 1mm more, which improved turn in also and improved stability coming onto the straight. During all of this I also started to pay attn to where I was on the stroke for the whole lap which led me to softening up the forks considerably, currently at 9.25N. The opposite happening on the rear, stock spring was 80N, then 85N + finally landed on 95N. Racing came up and I didnt have time to to do the final test which would have been -1 SAP with much lower rear and taller front end. When next season starts I will do a couple baseline days then go right for this setting to compare. All said I went faster on the 23 then the 19 by a good margin - tough to parse that all the way because there were things that felt better on the 19 and natural progression will account for an drop in time every season if you are going for it. What is evident is that the 23 is easier to ride and comparing footage I am at faster speeds at important places during the laps. I will also attribute faster times with the gear ratio, once you get used to using 1st a lot you are able to get this thing spun up real fast - sure I had some false neutral issues but most of that was my fault for incorrect angle setup on shift rod to gear select lever. Next season I will race it the whole season and get it to a really good spot I am certain. Will be a good time to watch the new panigales roll out here soon and then patiently wait to see what he next R will bring in 25 - it will be a big one….

Great looking bike! Do you have the stock 23' forks still installed, or did you upgrade them? I'm hoping to find a measurement of the PCD on the front fork caps. I'm not sure if there was a factory fork upgrade from 2020 to 2023. Thank you

And are you running the 468 in the rear? The spring weight you landed on at 95N, is just 10 short of the 105N spring that comes on the V4R. That may help on the corner exits later

I am not using the sitta setup, only cause at this point I don't care. I would run it if I was still riding, without clip torqued to 220nm before each track day - no problem. 220 nm is not gonna spin loose

if you want to learn about your bike, perhaps look at when I had a 19 R. There is so much you do not know, instead of coming across like you are some sort of master of the V4R because you know how to google parts. You could read up on people who have actual built/ridden/raced them and actual figure out what goes into it.

I want to believe that.

I ask also because I came across this sbk running it albeit with non quick change sprocket and different clip.

Could be because of the sprocket or the sbk axle is longer 🤷‍♂️

I'd rather not look at the supersport scrambler pieced together on the floor that you referenced a parts catalogue for. I was just asking a simple question about suspension caps but again you seem to take offense, good luck dialing in your loose suspensions that don't have a market aside from your custom rides that show you should've kept OEM installed

This must be what you practice on?
