More than twice the filter surface area + 1/2 the filtration (160 micron filter size instead of 80 micron). Carbon fiber frame instead of rubber.
Not recommended for road bikes. I imagine the use of this air filter would require tuning to achieve its true potential.
Leon posted a picture of the two (P08 vs R127S) earlier in the thread.

R127S uses p08 filter material (80 microns)

I went with the MWR due to their claims of balancing the air flow between the two cylinders. To me, this is more important than a few extra hp that I cannot probably feel nor utilize.

Seen that, but wanted to see some real world dyno from some of the forum members that have went from MWR race, to say the P016... See if it does do better or if it's a placebo effect. I am sure it's better but before I drop $350 on an air filter I wanted to see if anyone had some hard data.

I can promise you, your butt dyno will NOT notice a difference. That is a guarantee. Anybody that says they changed their air filter and noticed a difference is feeling nothing but placebo.

At best an air filter with a good dyno tune afterwards might add 2hp, and nobody's butt dyno is good enough to notice a 2hp difference, including mine.

Especially when you consider that difference really wont be realized until you are getting max ram-air effects...which is at higher speed and RPMs, something that nobody will notice on the street.

I'm very satisfied of my R127SBK. Is the Official air filter of Ducati Corse, is easier to clean, no oil, and for sure has better performances than sponge air filter with plates not used in real racing competitions

This is what I was thinking also... i would like to up the filter to a Sprint, but with no one showing anything other then 'I hear a difference' or 'here is the university of wales report' i cant seem to justify it. I spend money on stupid sh*t, but usually i can justify it to myself (not so much the misses). But i need some real world speaking from some people who went from MWR race to the Sprint SBK who also dyno'd before and after.

If you went from an oldass clogged up OEM filter to one of those, you might see an extra 2hp with a good dyno tune, maybe even 3hp. Not enough for your butt dyno to notice, but enough that it would show on the dyno graph.

But going from one good aftermarket air filter to another one? I honestly cant think of a bigger waste of money.

I mean, how many people can say they are extracting and utilizing every single HP out of their Panigale? And how will an extra 2hp tangibly change their riding?

Just got the 2015 R filter(P08) installed. Bike pulls harder and the rpm dip is gone. I am getting 3rd gear lifts...but it could be because my swing arm also was changed(dropped to -4mm). I have a 2013 1199R with full system and upmap. Is it ok to just run it like it is with the new filter or should I get a custom map or rapidbike? I am getting more pops on throttle lifts now.

Wow that is a great result from just a filter change. Getting rid of the "rpm dip" and the bike "pulling harder", "3rd gear whatever"

Sounds like lots of people wasted a lot of money with TB, RB, custom dyno tuning, fancy exhaust systems.......and all we had to do was get one of these filters.

You learn something new everyday.:D

Tim Radley prefers stock air filters. I think I'll take his word ;)

It's perfectly fine as is. If you want to optimize performance, then you can worry about a custom tune, RB, tuneboy, rexxer, etc.

Thanks! I was just worried if the engine is running too rich or lean. Maybe it sense more air so it adds more gas to offset the lean condition..

If the paper filter is so great. Why didn't they keep using it in the SL or 2015 R?
Look this is what I felt after I did the change. And like I said the lift is more likely from the swing arm change.

Just go buy the filter and try it out yourself.
